“We’re here,” Brock informed me as he untied my makeshift blindfold and took it off.

It took a moment for my eyes to adjust, but when they did, I let out an audible gasp.

In front of me was a beautiful solarium with a glass roof.

He took my hand and led me up the three steps to the door. “It’s heated. We won’t have to be cold or deal with the bugs when we want to look at the stars.”

The small building was completely enclosed.

There was a king-sized bed with a ton of comfortable-looking pillows on one side, and patio seating and a small refrigerator on the other side of the room.

There was also a very high-quality telescope next to the bed.

“It’s…incredible,” I said as I went to the bed, laid down flat, and gazed up.

It was a clear night, and the view was breathtaking.

The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I could see myself falling asleep out here while I was watching a meteor shower or another celestial event.

Brock laid down next to me. “We can spend a lot more time looking up at the stars.”

Tears escaped from my eyes and leaked down my temples and into my hair.

“Do you have any idea how amazing you are?” I asked him.

I couldn’t imagine that there were many people who would do this for their partner.

I’d never even mentioned a solarium.

Really, I’d never even thought about building one myself.

He’d come up with the idea on his own.

Simply to make me happy.

“Maybe it’s just self-preservation,” he said. “It got cold looking at the stars in the winter.”

I rolled onto my side so I could look at him. “You’re so full of it. You did this to make me happy.”

He rolled to his side and wrapped an arm around my waist. “I’m going to keep making you so happy that you’ll never regret turning your whole life upside down to come live with me in Cherry Cove.”

I stroked a hand over his stubbled jaw. “Not exactly a hardship, big guy,” I teased. “I wanted to be with you, and I love Cherry Cove. The stargazing here is an astrophysicist’s dream. I love my family and everything about my new home. And I love you.”

“I love you, too, sweetheart,” he said as he sat up. “I’ve been waiting until this solarium was finished so I could ask you a very important question here under the stars.”

He sounded so serious that I sat up, too. “What’s wrong?” I asked.

“Nothing is wrong,” he said in a surprisingly nervous voice. “I just have a question to ask you.”

Okay, something was up. Brock didn’t really get nervous about anything. He had nerves of steel, which made him incredibly good at rescuing hostages.

I watched as he pulled something out of his pocket.

My heart skittered as I realized it was a jewelry box.

He is going to ask me to marry him.

I’d dreamed about this.
