Mason Reid is an award-winning, Michelin-starred chef and owner of Epicure, one of New York’s hottest restaurants. He’s also one of the city’s most eligible bachelors, not that it matters. The only man he wants is Zeb, his assistant who is nineteen years younger and off limits.
Zeb spent years surviving on the streets, doing whatever he had to. He’s used to bad relationships and worse endings, and he’s convinced Mason will never want him that way. Trying to move on, he starts something new that forces him to quit his job and leave the people he cares about. When he returns bruised and bleeding, Mason feels like he’s been given a second chance, but it might already be too late.
A break at Mason’s cabin in Cherry Falls is what Zeb needs to recover, even if well-meaning friends leave them “gifts” to push things along. Mason is fighting possessiveness he knows Zeb doesn’t need. Zeb is convinced Mason could never want someone like him for real. He doesn’t get a happy ending.
When a snowstorm traps them together, honesty becomes unavoidable. In the magic of Cherry Falls, it’s easy to believe they’re meant to be. Back in New York, they have to deal with influential people’s opinions. Was this the start of something real, or just a holiday romance that won’t survive the New Year?
