When she lay back on the table, spread out for him like a meal, he couldn’t help himself from taking her for any amount of money in the world. Leaning over her, his cock still in his hand, he fucked her in small punches of his head inside of her until she grabbed a handful of his hair and pulled him to her breast.

Biting down on her breast, he suckled hard on it and drew not only her blood in but her essence as well. She was like a drug to him, and he just couldn’t get enough of her. He understood in that moment drug addicts and the reason they gave up everything to have it. She was like that to him.

Sliding his cock deep inside of her, he nearly came himself when she screamed. He knew it wasn’t in pain but pleasure, and it made his balls ache to let go inside of her. He wanted to mark her again and moved his mouth from her breast to her throat. She was still coming when he licked the pounding pulse, and he knew that as soon as he bit her, he was going to come with her.

“Bite me, Rutger. Please? Give me what I need.” He growled low, telling her without words that he wanted to wait. “Give it to me. Now.”

He couldn’t have stopped his cock from pounding inside of her for anything. As soon as he bit down on her throat, his balls emptied and his cock slammed deep inside of her. Even as he came, sucking hard on her throat, he could feel his balls fill again and again so that he could empty deep inside of her. Finally having had enough, he dropped atop of her and lay there half on and half off the table. Christ, he’d never been so sedated in his entire life.

“Rutger, are you all right?” He must have passed out or something because he woke with a start when Katlynne called his name. “Rutger?”

“I’m fine. I think. I feel like I’ve just fallen off the side of a mountain and it felt great.” He lifted his head, about all he could manage for now, and kissed her. “I’m sorry if I’m crushing you. I can barely move at the moment. Just give me a few moments here, and I’ll stand up and sit in the chair. Or pass out again.”

Her giggle was about the best thing he’d heard. Moving, albeit slowly, he managed to not just stand enough to fall into the chair, but he was able to do that without passing out again. Quite proud of himself for that, he watched as she lifted her body up from the table with her arms and looked at him. Rutger had to admit; he was quite jealous of her being able to move so well after what they’d just done.

“You have a mark on your shoulder. It looks like blood.” He said that he wouldn’t doubt that it was. “It looks like a mark, not blood, now that I can see it better. Like a small set of fangs.”

“Really?” He asked how big it was, and she told him. “I’ve never been marked before. I wonder if that’s what it is or just some dried blood like you thought at first.”

When she sat all the way up and licked the area she’d been talking about, he whimpered. It was too much on his skin to have her licking him right now, and he had to tell her before he cried. She kissed him gently on the mouth and told him it was a mark. And it did indeed look like a set of fangs.

“Let me rest here a moment, and I’ll have a look at it.” She asked for his phone, and he pulled it from his jeans pocket and handed it to her. That little bit of energy that he used had him thinking he’d be better off going to bed by himself rather than trying to move again. She took a picture of the mark and handed him his phone. “I’ve never seen anything like this before, much less heard about it. Do you have a mark too?”

She did have one on her shoulder where his was, but it was much smaller. Forgetting about how tired he was, he pulled up his pants and decided to talk to Brew. If he didn’t know what it meant, then he’d go to Brew’s mom. She was older than they were and would more than likely have some idea as to what it was. He hoped it wasn’t anything, but didn’t know.

Reaching out to Brew, he told him what he’d found. Telling him that Katlynne had one on her shoulder as well, he said he’d get back to him. As soon as the connection was closed, he told Katlynne what was going on. Brew would get back to him, and he hoped that it wouldn’t be all that long.

In the meantime, he decided to get some work done on his investments. With Katlynne’s money on top of his, he had a lot to work with now, and he didn’t want to mess things up for either of them. By the time the sun was going down fully, he had invested nearly all of her money in investments that he’d been in for years and added some others that he’d only just invested in. He was quite proud of the fact that they were going to be able to get her a lot of return on her dollar.

When he heard from Brew, it was nearly midnight. Katlynne had long since gone to bed to take another nap, and he’d been working through a book that he’d just gotten and wasn’t enjoying it all that well. It was part of a ten-book series, and he couldn’t get past the first chapter without having to go back and reread the entire first quarter again and again. He had finally given up on it just as Brew was getting back to him.

“I can’t find anything about that sort of mark. I’ve asked my mom, and she said that it might be in one of the books that we gave you for Katie. She said that it might have to do with your financial acumen, but she isn’t positive. There was a mark given to the most financially rich vampire at one time, but she thought that it had been done away with because it caused the vampire too much trouble. But she’s sure that it’s in the books. Did you ask Katie to see if she had read all the way through the books?”

“She’s not. We’ve been busy.” He felt Brew’s laughter and knew that he understood why they’d been so busy of late. Making love all the time was not only wearing them out; it was also taking a great deal of time out of their day.

Not that he was complaining, but he did know that he was going to have to slow down a bit or Katlynne would get sick like Kimber had. She and Rance had been making love so much that Kimber had gotten a little ill from lack of rest. Not that she was complaining, but they had to back off a bit so that she’d not become too ill.

“I’m betting that Cally Lily knows what’s going on. She’s read them all and seems to have a good idea what’s going on. Also Kimber. You should ask them.” He said that he would the next time he saw them. “Does it hurt or anything?”

“Not at all. In fact, I might not have noticed it at all but for the fact that Katlynne noticed it. We thought it was blood, but it turned out to be this tiny set of fangs.” Brew thought that was really strange, no matter what it was there for. “I’m just wondering why it came to me today. I’ve been doing nothing different, nor have Katlynne and I done anything different.”

“Like I said, if it’s for wealth, then I’ll get in touch with some of the elders to see why you have it. Do you suppose you’re the richest vampire there is?” He said he knew he had more money than the kiss that he was in now did. “That would include me, I bet. All right. There is nothing we can do about it right now, so you enjoy the rest of your evening. I know that I will.”

The two of them set up a time when they could get together for dinner one night. They wouldn’t eat with their mates, but they would drink wine. Which reminded him he needed to go to the sub-levels of their home to have a look at the wines that were stored there. He knew that two of the bottles were expensive, but he’d only glanced at them when he’d been asked if he’d looked at them. It made him shiver when he thought of one of the would-be buyers were going to tear it all out for a play area for their children. Christ, that would have been a waste of space for the kids.

He was on his second row of wines when Katlynne joined him. She’d been puttering around in the greenhouse with the faeries and had only just figured out where he’d been. Telling her that he was sorry for being lost all that time, he also showed her the bottles of wine that he’d come across. Some of them were very old and expensive. There were at least a dozen bottles of champagne.

“We should have one of them tonight. To celebrate the fact that we got the house.” He thought that was an excellent idea. “I have them on occasion. What do you say about having one when we have our first child? I’m hoping the way that we make love around here, that won’t be long in coming. I want children with you.”

“That’s the best news I’ve heard all day.” He picked her up and swung her around the cool cavernous room. “We’ll fill out the house, then when it’s full, we’ll wait a few hundred years until they move out and then start again.” Katlynne laughed, and he hugged her again.

“I love that plan. We’ll have them in batches so that they can raise each other.” He laughed with her. “I hope that we can have them a little closer in years than waiting a hundred years between children. Maybe only a few years between them. That way they can grow up together.”

“I’d like that as well. I had family when I was growing up, but since my parents waited so long to have a second child, I was gone and out of the house before I got to know my siblings. I was more like their parent than brother; I was so much older than they were.” She said that was why she wanted them closer together. “Good. Something else we can agree on. And I like having them only a few years apart too. That way, like you said, they can grow up getting to know one another.”

The champagne was a huge success. Not only did they celebrate the house, but they did them being married as well. He was glad that Katlynne didn’t want any kind of fuss about her wedding. He didn’t want the hoopla either and was content that their licenses were filed away at the courthouse instead of them having to fill out all the paperwork that might be involved with getting married to his mate.
