“She misspoke.”

“But—”

“Dessert, Aggie?” Dora asks.

Like that is even a question.

Grimm gestures toward my plate with such smooth confidence that I almost let him get away with it.

Almost.

My eyes narrow. His eyebrow rises.

Yes, it’s that damned eyebrow again.

Then the silver covers are lifted. And I gasp.

Okay.

Whatever that was is temporarily postponed.

Because we’re having chocolate for dessert.

And I mean chocolate—like with a fancy accent and everything.

There are four gorgeous chocolate soufflés on the table.

Not ordinary chocolate soufflés.

These are enormous, decadent little masterpieces drowning in rich dark chocolate sauce, topped with perfectly ripe raspberries and delicate curls of shaved chocolate.

I stare.

“Oh, my Goddess.”

Grimm's mouth curves.

And just like that, the suspicious little voice in my head gets temporarily drowned beneath a much louder one screaming— chocolate chocolate chocolate!

Grimm watches me instead of the dessert.

I pick up my spoon.

The center collapses beautifully when I break through the top.

Steam rises.

I scoop up chocolate, sauce, and half a raspberry.

The first bite hits my tongue.

I close my eyes.

“Oh.”

Someone chuckles. I don't care who.

“This is obscene.”
