Blair bursts out laughing as he puts her back down.

Logan is the biggest fucking goof on the planet. He takes nothing seriously until he needs to, and then he’s the first person you want beside you.

He’s a lot like Knox.

Except Knox fucks anything that moves.

The Ashfords have standards.

By the time we’re halfway through dinner, Blair’s nerves seem to have disappeared. She’s laughing with Dad, complimenting Mom’s pot pie and slipping into the conversation like she’s eaten at this table a hundred times.

“I thought people exaggerated when they said small towns had no secrets,” Blair says, taking another bite.

Dad laughs. “You picked the wrong town if you wanted privacy.”

Blair points her fork at me. “That would’ve been useful information six weeks ago.”

Dad laughs again, and Mom reaches over to add another spoonful of pot pie to Blair’s plate.

Yeah. She’s fucked.

They already love her.

“Daddy cleaned the kitchen twice because Blair was coming over!” Aspen suddenly announces.

I’m pretty sure the people at the fucking lighthouse hear her.

The table falls silent.

My fork freezes halfway to my mouth.

Blair slowly turns to look at me. “Twice?”

“It wasn’t a big deal,” I mutter.

“It was already clean,” Aspen adds helpfully.

Logan coughs into his fist, doing a terrible job of hiding his laugh.

“Don’t,” I warn him.

“I didn’t say anything,” he argues.

“Your face did.”

Mom’s mouth twitches.

I point my fork at her next. “You too.”

She raises her brows innocently. “I didn’t say anything either.”

Rory grins across the table. “Our little homemaker.”

“Fuck off.”

Blair leans closer, her voice low enough that only I can hear. “That’s adorable.”
