“No. I ate the food.”
Hunter cracked up laughing.
“Why are you laughing? This is serious. I don’t know what to do. I’ve got to share a bed with him tonight. What am I supposed to do?”
“Have a cleanout before bed.”
“Hunter! I feel like I’m talking to Ryder, and Deacon better not be listening in.”
Zeb heard a grunt, and then Hunter sounded like he was moving somewhere. Deacon had definitely been listening in. Those two told each other everything, which was sweet and incredibly irritating at the same time. He didn’t need what he said to his bestie getting back to Mason.
“I need a new best friend. You know you don’t have to include your boyfriend in everything.”
“He won’t say anything. I’ll withhold orgasms if he does.”
Zeb snorted. Fat chance of that happening. He’d lived with them for two weeks, and they put rabbits to shame.
“I made a big scene about him not sleeping on the sofa bed.”
“He has a sofa bed? Felix didn’t mention that.”
“It’s probably new, and if it’s not, then I doubt Felix ever saw the sofa when he was here with Ryder. He was probably tied to the bed.”
“True. Look, just because you’re sharing a bed, it doesn’t mean anything will happen, but you could make it happen.”
“How?”
“Get into bed naked, wearing a plug.”
“That sounds too subtle!”
Hunter laughed. “You’re worrying about nothing. That man has wanted you for two years, and now it looks like he’s going to do something about it. You just need to give him a clear signal.”
“Like what? And please don’t say anything that involves my asshole.”
“What are you doing tonight? Don’t tell me you’re going to bed already? It’s only eight o’clock.”
“We’re watching a movie together.”
“What?”
“It’s some gay romcom.”
“Bit on the nose, but we can work with that.”
“What are you talking about?”
“Well, you’re bound to cry during it, so make sure there are some tissues handy. When Mason checks on you, because he will, you can say, ‘We can use these tissues to clean something else up, you know,’ and then go for his dick.”
Zeb felt his face burn. “I am not saying something like that. He’ll laugh in my face.”
“Well, I’m all out of ideas. Should I get Deacon back on the line?”
“Don’t you dare.”
Hunter laughed again.
“I think he’s flirting with me as well.”
