It would have pictures of my daughters on it, and I was still nowhere near used to thinking of them that way.

“I think that’s everything,” I said.

“For today.”

“Thank you, Thaddeus. For all of it.”

“It’s been my honour, my lady.”

He packed the remaining instruments into his case and stood. Eira walked him to the door while I stayed against the cushions, looking from my stomach to the images still floating above the mattress.

By the time she came back, I still couldn’t decide whether I wanted to laugh all over again or ask her to sit beside me while I cried.

“Well.”

She sat beside the nest.

“That was rather a lot to take in.”

“I think that’s the nicest possible way of putting it.”

I opened the Pack channel before I could start worrying about how I was supposed to explain any of this.

Elowen: PACK MEETING. ASAP.

Then I remembered exactly who I was talking to and added:

Elowen: ASAP means As Soon As Possible.

I hesitated over the last message. More than anything, I wished Caius could be here with the others, but if I couldn’t have him in the room, I’d have him on that screen.

Elowen: All five of you, please.

“How long do you think they’ll take to reply?” I asked Eira.

My pad lit before she could answer.

“Not long at all.”

Chapter 31

Elowen

“Sweet Omega.” Darius greeted me as I walked into the sitting room. “Are you well?”

I went straight into his arms and buried my face against his chest.

“Yes.”

Leon came closer. “Are you certain?”

“I’m completely fine. Better than fine, actually.” I was already smiling. “But I need to tell you all about it together.”

Leon glanced at the table, where everything was set for the holographic call. “Everyone is ready. Whenever you wish, sweetheart, I will establish the connection.”

My heart immediately started beating faster. “Now. Let’s do it now.”

Caius appeared first, followed by Lucien and Alaric. Their projections formed above the table as I sat on the sofa between Leon and Darius.
