We'd spent almost all of yesterday together, eating in the nest, sleeping there and talking whenever we felt like it. After so long on my own, I really didn’t want to go back to eating alone. Breakfast sounded perfect if it meant seeing my mates before they disappeared into whatever important things they did all day.
I showered, brushed my teeth and chose a pale-pink cotton dress from the wardrobe. The neckline showed a little more than I usually would, but after spending the night naked with all five of them, being shy about a bit of cleavage felt rather pointless. It might even help with the seducing.
I left my hair loose after fluffing it into some sort of order and nearly put on shoes before remembering nobody wore them inside private homes in High Mountain. That still felt a bit strange, though I was starting to like walking barefoot on the warm stone.
I nearly walked straight into Akria as I hurried out of the room. She carried a stack of fresh linen, and I quickly stepped aside. “Oh, I'm sorry. I wasn't looking.”
She gave me a small smile and carried on. Further ahead, Livia checked something on her communication pad with Eltze. Both women looked completely put together in their navy dresses with their hair pinned neatly back, while mine was still slightly damp from the shower.
“Did you rest comfortably, my lady?” Livia asked as I approached.
“Very. Did I take too long? Have they left?”
“No, my lady. They're still in the kitchen.”
“Good. Thank you.”
I followed the smell of breakfast and almost tripped over my own feet as I hurried into the kitchen. All five men looked up. Alaric sat at the head of the table, with Caius, Lucien, Leon, and Darius on either side, all dressed and looking ready to govern, defend, or possibly invade a small country before lunch.
“A new light, everyone. Sorry. I overslept.”
They all greeted me back as I went straight towards Alaric.
“Hello, my mate.”
Alaric moved back enough for me to settle across his lap, one arm coming around my waist while he helped keep my skirt over my knees.
“Are you comfortable?”
“Very.” He was warm and solid beneath me, and his scent changed as I settled against him. He was just as aware of where I was sitting as I was.
Everyone carried on as before, talking, eating, or reading from their pads. Darius and Leon discussed something across the table, Lucien kept his attention on his own screen, and even Alaric held a pad in one hand while his other arm stayed around my waist. Caius quietly moved the fruit dish within my reach.
I picked up a strawberry and bit into it. Juice ran over my fingertips, and a little sound escaped me at the sweetness. “Oh, that's good.”
“Fresh from the garden,” Alaric said.
I chose another and held it towards his mouth. “Have one.”
He took a bite without changing expression. I ate the other half, then leaned into his neck and breathed him in, dragging my nose slowly along his jaw. “You smell so good.”
I nipped lightly at his throat, and his arm tightened around my waist. That was all the encouragement I needed. I shifted on his lap until his thigh was between mine and I could feel how hard he was beneath me. Just enough fabric separated us to make every movement feel good, and nowhere near enough to stop me.
I rolled my hips again, slower this time, pressing my face into his neck as his scent grew stronger and mine did the same. Darius was still talking to Leon about the estate workers when Alaric put down his pad, lifted his tea and took a perfectly calm sip. I liked that far more than I should have.
I touched his cheek and turned his face towards mine, catching his lower lip gently between my teeth when I kissed him. His cock twitched beneath me, and I smiled against his mouth before grinding down harder.
That felt far too good. Before long, I was moving in small, urgent circles against his lap, one hand gripping his shoulder while I kissed along his jaw and back to his neck. Alaric stayed completely controlled beneath me, but his scent made it clear I was getting to him.
“Alaric…” I shifted again, trying to close the distance. “I need…”
His hand moved to my waist and changed the angle just enough to make me gasp. “Take what you need, my heart.”
I rubbed myself against him harder and stopped caring about the breakfast table altogether. His arm kept me steady while the pressure between my legs built and built, until I had my mouth pressed against his throat to stop myself making far too much noise.
I came hard enough that my whole body tightened against him. I clung to his shoulder and kept moving in slower circles until the last of it eased, then sagged against his chest and tried to remember we were sitting at the breakfast table.
It took a few breaths before I noticed that Darius was still speaking to Leon, Lucien had returned to his pad, and Caius was eating. I lifted my head slowly and looked around the table. “Oh, my goodness. Did I really just do that at breakfast? Please tell me we're the only people in here.”
