“Apologies, Agatha. I've been busy with some unavoidable business concerns.”

“So have I. Well, with schoolwork, I mean.”

“That’s good.”

“Good.”

We stare at each other.

Dora clears her throat.

Loudly.

I look at her. She looks delighted.

And now I'm going to murder my best friend.

Then Wulfy joins us and moves towards Dora.

“There you two are. Hello, mate.”

He kisses Dora. She immediately melts against him.

Show-offs.

Wulfy looks at me.

“Aggie.”

“Wulfredo.”

His eyes narrow. I grin.

“You know I hate when you call me that.”

“Which is why I do it.”

Grimm chuckles. I look at him. He looks at me.

And there it is again. That strange pull.

Not the warm, comforting awareness I feel with my Wolf.

This is sharper. Hotter. It slides beneath my skin and settles somewhere considerably lower.

Grimm opens the limousine door.

“Wulfredo.”

Wulfy gives him a warning look. I bite my lip.

Oh, this is going to be fun.

“Dora.”

Grimm gestures. She climbs inside. Wulfy follows. Which leaves me standing alone with Grimm.

He holds out his hand. Just like he did the first night we met. And just like that night, my pulse jumps.
