“I’m trying to figure out how you love Sam while actively building another branch of her family tree.”
I busted out laughing.
“You stupid.”
“I’m dead serious.”
“I can love my wife and still fuck up.”
“Once?”
I looked at him.
He looked at me.
“Twice?”
“Frozo.”
“With two relatives?”
“Nigga.”
“And got both of them pregnant?”
“All right!”
He laughed.
“That’s not fucking up, my nigga. That’s a subscription.”
“Fuck you.”
We both laughed.
But I meant what I said.
I loved Sam.
That was my wife.
My home.
Mother of my kids.
I ain’t never sat around imagining some life where me and Sam wasn’t together. Even when we argued. Even when sex got repetitive. Even when the house got loud as fuck and I wanted everybody to shut up for five fucking minutes.
I wasn’t going nowhere.
Heather was different.

And yeah, maybe I had said some shit I shouldn’t have said.
Especially after she got pregnant.
But women wanted reassurance when they were emotional.
