“Okay.”

I went upstairs.

Five minutes later, I was in our bedroom pulling clothes out the closet when I heard footsteps coming up the stairs.

I didn’t turn around.

“Where the baby?”

“In the playpen.”

Avery.

I looked over my shoulder. “What you doing up here?”

“Looking for wipes.”

“Hall closet.”

“I looked.”

“They in there.”

“They’re not.”

“Then Sam moved them.”

She walked past me toward the closet anyway.

My eyes dropped straight to her ass.

Couldn’t even help that shit.

Avery had on little shorts that disappeared underneath all that ass every time she walked. Thick thighs. Little waist. Redbone skin.

She opened the closet, moved some towels around, then looked over her shoulder.

Caught me.

“Don’t start.”

I smirked. “Start what?”

“Looking at me like that.”

“Ain’t nobody looking at your ass.”

“You literally looking at my ass.”

I laughed.

“Go downstairs, Avery.”

“Gladly.”

She closed the door and walked past me.

I smelled her perfume.
