Man, fuck you.

Nah, fuck you. You had a wife, four kids, two side bitches in the same fucking family, two secret babies, another baby on the way, gambling debt and owed me money. Nigga, you was collecting problems like Pokémon.

I ain’t laugh then.

Still wasn’t fucking funny now.

Maybe I had been moving sloppy.

Fine.

Maybe shit got out of hand.

Fine.

But nobody could convince me my marriage was over.

Sam loved me.

Nine years didn’t disappear in five fucking days.

Four kids didn’t disappear.

A house.

Bills.

Birthdays.

Christmases.

Everything we’d been through.

She was pissed.

Embarrassed.

Hurt.

Whatever.

Eventually she’d calm down enough to talk.

And once she did, I’d fix it.

I didn’t know how the fuck I was going to fix it, but I’d figure that shit out.

Until then, I was sleeping at Levin’s.

Which was humiliating in itself.

Thirty-four years old, married, six fucking kids with another one possibly coming, sleeping in my brother’s guest room.

At least Levin wasn’t judging me.

That was the one motherfucker who hadn’t given me some long-ass speech about what I should’ve done.

He asked what happened.
