This whole fucking house was full of shit nobody was supposed to know.

And somehow everybody was smiling.

I leaned against the counter and looked around.

My family.

Dysfunctional as fuck, apparently.

But my family.

Then my eyes landed on Xay again.

He was holding Serenity while talking to Zion, Sam beside him fixing Michael’s plate.

Regular family shit.

You would’ve never guessed that nigga had helped take seven years of my life from me.

My jaw was so tight I could’ve cracked teeth.

“Levin!”

I blinked.

Sam was staring at me.

“What?”

“Are you eating or standing there looking crazy all day?”

I looked at her.

Then Xay.

I smiled.

“I’m coming.”

I pushed off the counter and headed toward them.

Thanksgiving had officially started.

HEATHER

I sat at that big-ass table with Collin tucked against me, trying to eat with one hand while keeping his little greedy ass satisfied with the other.

Levin had more than enough room for everybody, but somehow the table still felt crowded as hell once all the food got passed around.

“Who made these yams?” Aunt Amanda asked.

“Kiana brought those,” Levin said.

“Who’s Kiana?” Uncle Tim asked.

Tyler laughed from down the table. “Don’t worry about it.”

Levin looked at him. “Nigga, shut up.”
