“I felt like I’d entered a secret society at your dinner party. You should plan another soon.”

The condo was a great setting but if Dad ended up spending more time there, planning might get tricky. “What if we planned one here? We could co-host.”

She smiled, eyes gleaming. “I’d love that. I’ll look at my calendar today and shoot some possible dates your way.”

“Perfect.”

“Sorry I’m late!” Hannah Holland called as she closed the front door and kicked off her shoes. “Hunter and Tilley say hello!” Hannah wore Manta’s overalls over a plain white tank top. She’d been rotating her bobbed hair through a variety of colors and today she sported hot pink locks. She was an adorable bundle of energy and I kind of wanted to be just like her when I was her age. “What did I miss?”

“Not much. Rosie is filling my dad in on her science museum trip.”

Hannah bit back a laugh. “She’s smart but man does she love to talk. I forgot how chatty kids could be!” Then she went over and introduced herself.

Dad blinked before standing and shaking her hand. He had the strangest look on his face. It was a look I wasn’t sure I’d ever seen before. “Is my dad…”

“Hot for Hannah? Yeah, I think he is,” Kate finished for me. “Wow. He is single, right?”

“Yeah. Is Hannah?” The last thing I needed was for Dad to finally show an interest in someone who was taken.

“Very single.”

“Is it bad that I’m staring?” I couldn’t look away. Not that it mattered. He had eyes only for Hannah. Even Rosie was pouting at the loss of attention.

“Do you like baseball?” I heard my dad ask.

Hannah laughed. “You have no idea.”

Adorable, sweet, full of life, good with kids, and obsessed with baseball…how had I not thought of this before? Hannah was perfect. “I’m going to need to find my dad a place to live fast.”

“If they move fast enough you won’t have to.”

I finally peeled my eyes away and turned to stare at Kate. “What’s that supposed to mean?”

She shrugged. “Hannah lives here. In this house.”

Was she suggesting Dad and Hannah would live here? Oh no… “I’m really not sure I can live with my dad again.”

That sent Kate into a fit of laughter that drew Everett’s attention. He handed over the grill to Isaac and joined us. “What’s so funny?”

I nodded towards Hannah.

After a moment his mouth fell open. “Is Hannah flirting with your dad?”

“I think the flirting is mutual.”

“No shit.”

“Even worse,” Kate whispered. “The Brady Bunch house is about to get even weirder.” Then she practically skipped over to the grill to kiss her husband.

“What’s that supposed to mean?” Everett asked as he pulled me into his arms.

I gazed up at this man that I had fallen so hard for and couldn’t believe that there wasn’t an ounce of worry or doubt in me. I wanted to love him as completely as he already loved me.

Even if it meant doing so near my dad. “It means if Hannah and my dad keep flirting like that, we might all be calling this house home soon.”

Everett’s eyes went wide, then he groaned. “Maybe keep the condo.”

Brunch was surprisingly easy with Dad mostly distracted. Every so often he remembered to shoot Ev a glare. Usually when someone said something nice about him.
