Marcus steps back as if Elliot struck him.
Marquez moves into view.
“You can explain yourself later. Right now, you tell me where Simon is.”
“I don’t know.”
“You own a marine salvage yard inside his escape network.”
“I don’t own it.”
“Your name is on the property record.”
“Simon put it there.”
“Why?”
“So nothing led back to him.”
“What does he use the property for?”
Marcus looks toward Elliot again.
“A staging area. Vehicles. Boats. Equipment.”
“And hostages?”
“I never saw any.”
“That isn’t an answer.”
“No. I don’t know.”
Ben appears on the monitor beside Arthur Bell.
“We’re going to search the salvage yard with or without your help. If Simon left a trap, agents may die.”
Marcus turns toward him.
“You’re the SEAL.”
“One of them.”
“Simon warned us about you.”
“What did he say?”
“That you would become a problem if Calle Sinclair trusted you.”
A chill moves over my skin.
Ben’s expression doesn’t change.
