“Bed,” she said. “Now.”

“Yes,” I said into her throat, and then her mouth was on mine again.

We didn’t stop.

LIKA

He took me at my word.

The cot was built for one of him and he didn’t care. The rest of our clothes went in an order I couldn’t put back together afterward. His mouth found the mark he’d left at my throat and set his teeth in it, careful, and my knees would have quit if I’d been standing on them.

His hands were shaking. The most controlled male in the sector, shaking, and not hiding it from me. I flattened my palm over his heart and felt its slow rhythm stumble.

His claws had extended too. He planted them in the cot frame instead of my skin, black points biting metal while he held the rest of himself off me by force.

The frame creaked. His fangs stayed long, his eyes almost black around the red, and every predator signal was alive over me and asking permission.

“There it is,” I said. “I was starting to think you never lost control.”

“Lika.” My name and nothing after it.

“I’ve wanted you since the shuttle.” He said it into my skin, working down.

“I fought it. I lost. I wanted you anyway.” His mouth closed over my breast, the flat of his tongue. Heat rolled out from everywhere his mouth had been, spreading, dropping lower, and my back came up off the cot.

“The file said mild,” I got out.

“The file was wrong.” He went lower. “Tell me to stop and I stop. Tell me anything else and I don’t.”

“Don’t stop.”

He knelt on the deck and drew me to the edge of the cot. Then he looked up the length of me, and I stopped finding anything funny.

“Rylos, I—”

His mouth closed over me and the word turned into a noise I didn’t plan.

“Rylos.” His name was all I had left. One fist in his hair between his horns, the other slapping flat on the cold bulkhead for anything to hold. “There. There, don’t... oh. Oh, don’t stop, don’t—”

He kept the stroke steady. My hips lifted off the cot; he pinned them with one forearm and kept his mouth on me.

“Please.” It fell out of me. “Please, I can’t, it’s too... please—”

The pleasure climbed until I couldn’t hold it back anymore, loud, his name breaking to pieces in my mouth, my heels digging into his back. He brought me down slowly, with one last drag of his tongue that made my whole body jerk.

He came up my body. I was boneless. Wrecked. I still found one thing to say.

“The Conclave’s reports left out the important parts.”

“Come here.” His mouth came down on mine and I could taste myself on him. I pulled him the rest of the way onto the cot that was about to hold both of us.

He pushed in slow. The broad head first. Then the ridges, one after another, dragging where nothing has ever reached. I clenched around the stretch of him, and the sound that came out of me was high and helpless and I did not care who on this ship could hear it.

“Lika.” He’d stopped. Forehead to my temple. Shaking.

“Don’t you dare go careful now.”

“No.” He moved.
