I stared at the screen, grinning like an idiot, waiting for a reply.
After a few minutes and still nothing, I put it back in my pocket.
Everything was fine.
Ten minutes went by.
Then thirty, and an hour.
Whatever.
Pushing the worry from my mind, I prepped the dough for tomorrow and set Big Momma to kneading.
Then I checked my phone.
Still nothing.
By the time I’d left the shop and made it back upstairs, I was beyond worried.

He promised.
I texted Drew. Nothing.
I texted Alex. Nothing.
I sat on the balcony until it was too cool to sit out there anymore, then I sat on my couch and stared at the television.
And still I worried.
Finally, close to ten, I gave up and went to bed.
Then, at about ten my phone was vibrating across the nightstand and I snatched it up.
Alex: So your man is okay. Sorta.
Oh boy.
This couldn’t be good.

Nightmare
The second I pulled open the clubhouse door and heads started to turn my way, I knew I was fucked.
Why?
Because every brother (and prospect) was staring at me with narrowed eyes.
They knew.
Everyone knew that I’d put my filthy hands on their precious princess—well, they might not know for sure, but they were assuming, and they were assuming correctly.
Fuck.
Letting the door swing shut behind me, I scanned the room until I found the man I’d come to see.
