Jenna came to me and leaned against my side. “I’m going to make you pies. It’s not a problem to make a few more.”

I wrapped my arm tightly around her waist as I heard Nate snicker.

Asshole!

Every member of my team was enjoying this, and I wanted to punch every single one of them.

I shot Nate an I’ll-get-even-with-you-for-this look as I said gruffly, “We’ll be there, but we’re not coming at the ass crack of dawn. We’ll stop by in the afternoon.”

“I’ll be there early to help Sara set up her stall,” Nate mentioned.

“Is she selling her mandala stones?” Jenna asked excitedly. “I’d love to see them and have the chance to buy a few.”

Sara was a talented painter.

Painting natural stones in intricate geometrical patterns was a hobby for her, but she did incredible work.

“She is. They sell well at festivals,” Nate said with a smile. “I’ll try to save you a few.”

Nate and Sara had their art in common, and they were each other’s biggest fans.

“We can all eat there when Sara takes a break in the afternoon,” Seth suggested. “They always have good food booths.”

“Sara and I will be extremely lucky if that happens,” Jenna said teasingly. “We’ll get to eat with the four handsomest guys at the festival.”

She looked up at me and winked.

And my damn chest ached when I realized that she’d just said something she never would have said weeks ago.

She was joking with the guys without a second thought.

She felt completely comfortable with every one of them.

And…she had all of them eating out of her hand in a heartbeat.

Even Seth puffed out his chest just a little.

They were boneheads sometimes who could be as easily flattered as the next guy.

I grinned down at Jenna and winked back at her because she looked so damn happy.

She was definitely part of the family now, and I was going to make damn sure she never felt alone again.

Chapter 24

Jenna

Later that evening, I found myself standing in the master bathroom, nervous as hell.

I’d taken a shower and I was ready for bed.

But for some reason, I was having a very hard time walking from the bathroom to the bedroom tonight.

It was ridiculous, really.

I took a deep breath and opened the bathroom door.

Two steps out the door, and I came to a screeching halt.
