In the end, I hadn’t put up much of a fight about staying with him.

It made sense, and I felt safe when I was with him.

Maybe it was my anxiety and my feelings of unease that had caused that sleepwalking episode.

I’d been having trouble falling asleep at night, so I’d probably rest better with Brock.

However, sensible or not, I was going to have a very hard time not wanting to get him naked.

Even now…

Even though we were comfortably working in the same room, that sense of awareness was there for me.

I could feel him.

I could sense the masculine energy that exuded from every pore in his body.

It was a comfortable feeling, but the moment he moved closer, my lust would careen out of control.

I lifted my head and simply stared at him.

We were both dressed casually in jeans, but the way that the T-shirt he was wearing was stretched over his muscular upper body was mouthwatering.

The man was seriously ripped, to the point that it should be criminal to look that damn good.

I squirmed a little in my chair, and Brock suddenly looked up and met my gaze.

He lifted a brow. “Like what you see?” he asked in a sexy as sin voice.

Damn!

Busted!

Brock was cocky sometimes, but even that cockiness was sexy.

I sighed. “Way too much,” I flipped back at him as I put my computer aside. “Do you want a sandwich or something?”

He scowled at me. “You don’t need to wait on me, Jenna.”

“I’m getting up anyway,” I explained as I rose from the comfy chair. “My ass is getting numb.”

Something fluttered inside my belly as his eyes scanned my body with a heated expression. “Let’s go into town. I’ll get you some of the best ice cream in Michigan at the Front Porch Creamery. I highly recommend the soft serve.”

“I love a good soft serve,” I groaned.

He grinned as he stood. “Let’s go. We can do our walk around town today.”

I shot him a you’re-in-big-trouble-for-this look. “I just promised myself I’d eat healthier.”

“Tomorrow,” he said in a mischievous voice. “You can’t pass up the chance to hit the Front Porch. They’ll be closing for the season in another month or two. Before the snow flies.”

I sent him a surprised look as I stretched. “They do that here?”

I’d never lived in a place that had heavy winter weather.

“Yep. The warmer months are crazy for them. I think they probably like having those colder months off to recover. The shop is iconic, and the same family has owned it for decades. They’ve always closed for the winter. They don’t get enough business from the locals in the winter to make it worth staying open.”

“Is it really nuts here in the summer?” I questioned.
