I watched in amusement as a few of the other players dumped a cooler full of melted water over Coach Grange. He grumbled but otherwise took it in stride. I glanced up at the boxes, knowing that Violet was up there somewhere. She’d brought her friend Steph and Steph’s fiancé Christopher to the game with her, watching from one of the private boxes with her mother. I’d never met either of Violet’s friends, but the four of us were going out to dinner after the game.
My hip twinged as I joined my team in moving towards the locker room. Our team had struggled to put points on the board today and I’d had to do much more kicking than I would have liked to. The team was really going to need to re-evaluate its offense after this season; they wouldn’t have me next year to help with putting points on the board.
I went right to physio, wanting to get someone to massage my hip before I went into the ice bath. I was sitting in the water, my head leaning back on the edge, when I saw something unexpected: my girlfriend striding across the room towards me.
That’s right, I was officially calling Violet my girlfriend now, ever since the photo shoot. And she didn’t seem to mind. Probably because I kept giving her orgasms.
Violet looked adorable in faded jeans, green chucks, and a green Cougars jersey. A matching hat was perched on her head. She gave me a big smile.
“Nice game, Mason.”
I sat up and her eyes dropped to my cock before returning to my face.
“Well, you’re a sight for sore eyes,” I teased. “Although I wish you were wearing my jersey instead.”
I’d never seen Violet in the locker room in all the years I’d been part of the team. And I wasn’t the only one who was surprised.
“Violet?”
She turned to greet her father. “Hey Dad. Congratulations.”
Coach Grange looked as cheerful as I’d ever seen him. He was only partly scowling.
“It wasn’t our best game, but we won anyway thanks to our secret weapon.” He clasped a hand on my bare shoulder.
“Your secret weapon only performed well because he’s got the best doctor of physical therapy in sports,” I reminded him, nodding at Violet.
“You did good, Violet. I appreciate you helping Robbie. And the team.”
He sounded proud. Violet looked like she might pass out from shock at her father’s compliment.
“Um. Thanks, Dad.”
“We just need to get him through the big game now.”
“We will.”
Coach looked between us, his eyes curious. “Are you joining the team for dinner tonight, Violet?”
I wasn’t sure if he knew we’d gotten back together or if he was just fishing for information.
“No, I’m having dinner with some friends who came to the game with me,” she said. “In fact, I should probably get back to them. I left them in the box with Mom.”
Her eyes bounced back to me, her gaze warm. “I’ll see you later, Robbie. And congratulations again.”
“I’ll see you in a few minutes,” I reminded her. There was no reason to hide our relationship. “I’m looking forward to meeting your friends.”
“Okay, I’ll meet you up there.” She gave her father a nod. “Bye Dad.”
We both watched her leave the locker room. When the door closed behind her, the coach turned towards me again.
“You two are back together, then?”
“Yes.”
Coach Grange nodded. “Good. My wife will be thrilled.”
“And you?” I couldn’t resist asking.
