Fuck.
No.
I drag my attention back to Winter Barbie’s luggage and realization hits me.
How the fuck did I not recognize her sooner?
Junie and Zymon have spent the last two days briefing me on the woman who’s supposed to arrive at Winter Storm for this ridiculous collaboration.
The woman standing in my foyer isn’t some random rich girl who’s mistaken my mansion for a five-star hotel.
She’s an international phenomenon.
An Olympic champion.
One of the highest-paid supermodels in the world.
The heiress to a fashion and art empire.
The fucking Ice Princess herself.
Artemis Volpe.
Well, I’ll be damned.
I’d been preparing my sanity for her arrival. I just wasn’t expecting her until two days from now.
And certainly not after spending hours driving through the mountains in the fucking snow.
Where the hell is everyone else?
“Sir.” Minho’s nervous voice cuts through my thoughts. “This is Artemis Volpe” I barely hear him.
My attention is still on her.
I notice she hasn’t moved an inch. She’s just standing still looking unimpressed.
I turn my head slightly toward Minho. “Does she not speak?”
Minho opens his mouth but the strange woman beats him to it.
“Is he an imbecile?”
I slowly turn back to her.
“The fuck did you just say?”
Her honey eyes drift toward me. “Exactly what you heard.”
Her voice is calm.
Too damn calm.
There’s a blade tucked somewhere beneath every syllable, and she’s got the nerve to look bored while wielding it.
I almost smile.
Almost.
