I tear my eyes away from Artemis to find her staring between us like she knows a national secret.
Then she looks at Stevie and Stevie looks back at her.
A silent conversation passes between them, and both women suddenly look far too pleased with themselves.
They know something.
Artemis narrows her eyes at them.
“Let’s get to work.”
I bite back a grin.
“Yes, princess.”
Those eyes that drive me fucking insane snap toward me.
I wink.
And there it is.
The faintest and prettiest blush creeps across her cheeks before she looks away.
My beautiful, impossible glacier.
She can glare at me all she wants. She can pretend that kiss meant nothing and hide behind that gorgeous, icy composure of hers. But I remember the way she melted against me. And judging by those pink cheeks, she remembers, too.
I settle back in my chair, trying to look like a man who has his shit together.
I’m surrounded by people discussing a photoshoot with a very expensive campaign to organize in very little time.
I should be thinking about doing it quickly so all these people can get the fuck out off my property.
Instead, I’m thinking about kissing Artemis again.
And maybe making her blush a little more.
Fuck.
I’m not just falling for this woman.
I’m falling hard, and the mind-blowing part is that I have a feeling she’s beginning to fall, too.
Because every time I glance across the table, I catch her looking at me.
And every single time, she smiles before she remembers she’s supposed to be the Ice Princess.
And that little smile? That smile that makes my entire body and soul come alive?
Yeah…I’m going to spend the rest of my life trying to earn it.
