“I let you sleep. You were a little late last night.”

I narrow my eyes at her.

Mrs. Han smiles knowingly.

“You were sleeping very peacefully.”

Her eyebrows wiggle.

Nope.

I throw the blankets back into place.

“Great.”

Stevie frowns.

“I see you’re not still mad at me.”

“Oh, I am.”

I grab my robe and get out of bed.

“I’m simply waiting until we get back home so I can avoid murdering you under South Korean jurisdiction.”

The three women react differently.

Stevie bursts out laughing.

“Arty!”

Mika shakes her head.

“One day, someone is going to believe the shit you say and have you committed. I won’t follow you into the cuckoo house.”

Mrs. Han, however, looks genuinely horrified.

Right.

She’s probably remembering my family’s criminal history.

I give her my creepiest smile and she shudders before giving me a painfully polite smile in return.

I bite the inside of my cheek.

Okay, this is too funny.

“You’re smiling,” Stevie says suddenly.

“That’s a creepy smile. It doesn’t count,” Mika says.

Mrs. Han nods firmly. “It absolutely counts.”

I roll my eyes at all of them.

Then Stevie checks her phone. “So, we have twenty minutes before everyone starts asking where you are.”

I look at the clock.
