I lean against the swaying bag, resting my forearms on its worn surface. Sweat drips from my jaw as I catch my breath.
For a few seconds, the silence feels almost peaceful.
Then I remember last night.
The Ice Princess.
The steel in pretty eyes.
Then I think about the snowstorm currently trapping me inside my estate with a stranger who managed to spike my blood pressure within two fucking seconds of meeting me.
There goes the peace.
Fucking fantastic.
Exactly what I need. Being trapped with a woman who looks like she eats human babies for a hobby.
But then the lyrics she inspired last night start playing in my head.
The beat comes first, low and steady, settling into my chest until it matches my heartbeat.
Just like that, my breathing slows.
“Shit.”
I grab a towel and wipe my face.
A normal man might lose his mind at the thought of being snowed in with the highest-paid supermodel in the world.
I’m not fucking normal.
And I’m very fucking annoyed.
Mostly because she managed to stir something inside me that I’m determined to ignore.
The bombshell heiress is a walking, talking red flag.
But fuck, so am I.
I drag a hand through my damp hair, pushing it away from my face.
It bothers me that I stood frozen just watching her.
It bothers me even more that I wanted to keep watching.
Fuck.
No.
She’s dangerous, and I knew it the second I laid eyes on her. Not because she’s violent, but because somehow, without even trying, she makes me feel things I’ve spent years burying.
I leave the gym before my thoughts can annoy the fuck out of me any further and head toward the kitchen.
The mansion is quiet, as always. Most days, Minho and Mrs. Han are the only ones here besides me.
I pass through one of my favorite hallways, its round mirrors reflecting the morning light from the floor-to-ceiling windows. Snow blankets the landscape outside, turning the dark floors into a canvas of shifting silver.
Winter Storm is everything I dreamed of when I had nothing.
