“Inside,” Kiam tilted his head toward the doorway.
Once we were indoors, Kiam went to wash up, and I sat on the couch waiting for him. It was a strange feeling, sitting here and knowing that the lawn was decorated with strung-up corpses dripping their intestines out. Just moments ago, they had been living, breathing souls.
While I did love some nasty things, finding them interesting, this wasn’t a level of gore I ever thought I’d be subjected to. It would take some getting used to since realistically, Kiam’s lifestyle didn’t favor the clean and austere.
I had to come to terms with disembowelment.
“I have to come to terms with disembowelment,” I whispered to myself. I couldn’t help it, I laughed at the ridiculousness.
Kiam came around the corner, his brows furrowed. “What are you laughing at?”
I lifted my hand and dropped it back down on my lap. “I don’t know. I guess this is just a lot to take in. I want to ask how you got used to it, but you’ve been biting people and ripping them to shreds for hundreds of years, so.” When I sat and thought about it, it didn’t bother me as much as I thought it should.
Throughout my life, I’d seen plenty of horrific car wrecks, and my jaunts through the forest had subjected me to plenty of mutilated or dismembered animal bodies. This wasn’t the same thing. The demons looked like any other human you would pass on the street. For all I knew, they had families, wives, maybe even children.
None of that changed the fact that they were demons, though. Or the inescapable truth they were here to kill us. Multiple things had tried to murder me recently, and if this was the way it was dealt with, so be it. Kiam had just better use his scent-blocking magic whenever I needed it because otherwise my stomach would be in a constant state of turmoil.
“Nobody told you to go outside,” he remarked.
“You have like twenty computer screens showing everything,” I pointed out. “Not exactly avoidable. But, well, I guess I don’t really want to avoid it? Honestly, the smell was worse than the sight and you took care of that, thank you.”
Kiam sat down beside me on the black velvet couch and then grabbed me around my middle, lifting me onto his lap. “What you saw outside, you will see again. It is unavoidable. That doesn’t mean you’ll have to be near it every time and I’d rather you weren’t, so I’m not distracted.”
“You locked me in the computer room.” While I understood why, it still irritated me. Feeling trapped was the worst.
He lightly trailed his fingers down the side of my neck, sending tingles up and down my spine. “And I’ll do it again.”
His strokes made me wiggle against him. “When I learn how to do real magic, you won’t be able to.”
His dark chuckle sent a bolt of heat straight down to my core and he wrapped his hand around the back of my neck. When I glanced up at him, his makeup was fully in place, styled like the first time I saw him with thick black eyeshadow and super dark red lips. His clothing was different, too. Gone was the tailored suit with wide lapels and in its place was a ruffled and frilled coat and shirt.
His gaze was burning a hole in the side of my neck. I could feel my veins thumping against the pads of his fingers. “Is that so?” He asked.
Probably not, but I didn’t get the chance to answer as suddenly, he plunged his fangs through the side of my neck. The excruciating pain dissipated almost as quickly as it came, and I felt myself leaning into him, tilting myself to give him better access. As if he needed the help, like he couldn’t just easily take what he wanted.
He lapped at me with his tongue, and I listened to him swallow as the pleasure coursed through my body. I reached down, feeling for his belt. I loosened it while he shifted his weight, giving me easier access.
Kiam tore away my leggings while I freed him from his pants. With one smooth movement, he swung me around to face him. I grabbed his thick length and positioned it at my entrance, rubbing the head through my wetness. It wasn’t quite enough, and I had to lower myself slowly, waiting for my body to adjust to his size. When I finally relaxed, he slid home.
With my legs bent alongside him on the plush couch cushions, I kept sinking, struggling for leverage. He grabbed my hips, digging his nails into my flesh, lifting me up and slamming me back down. He was practically feral, tossing me around like a ragdoll. I wasn’t going to complain. Lost in the waves of pleasure, I didn’t notice when he stopped drinking from my neck.
“Please,” I begged him. “I’m close.”
“Tell me what you want,” he whispered in my ear. He pressed his fingers into my hips, squeezing my flesh with his hands.
My nails dug into his shoulders, hard enough to almost pierce through the layers of fabric that blocked me from touching his skin. “I need to come,” I gasped.
Kiam flipped me around, and my head bounced against the sofa before he grabbed me by my neck and held me in place. He moved over me like the predator he was, with controlled power and full of deadly elegance. His weight settled between my thighs, and he reached down, finding my clit and circling it with two fingers.
Waves of pleasure wracked my body, the pressure begging to be released while he teased my entrance with his cock, pushing in slightly, just to back away.
“For god’s sake, just fuck me,” I cried out. He was edging me and it was pissing me off.
He grinned before he slammed inside me, increasing the pressure of his grip on my neck. My orgasm crashed over me while he groaned my name in my ear.
After he found his own release, he scooted down, making space to tuck his face into my shoulder. We both caught our breath, lying together on the couch for several minutes.
“I need more blood,” Kiam muttered, his hot breath warming my chest.
