Too soon.

You forgave yourself too soon.

At that moment, everything was perfect, too perfect to be real. I didn’t want to wake up from that dream. I didn’t want that overwhelming force to wake me up cruelly again.

I would do anything not to wake up.

His lips abandoned mine once more, and leaned in, but I placed my trembling fingers in his hair. “I… No…”

When his tongue touched my sensitive clit, I tugged at his hair. A little too hard.

“Sorry…” I tried to pull my hand away in fear, but he reached out and held it gently. I felt a sense of deja vu; he had done the same thing when I slapped him.

He licked my fingers slowly before placing them back into his hair. He whispered, his gaze locking onto mine.

“Want to punish me?”

I swallowed hard at his amused tone. “Not yet.”

My answer widened his smile. “Then I’ll keep trying.”

He pressed his chest flush against mine. Delicately caressing my back, his tongue moved up from my throat to my chin, pausing to kiss my jawbone. “I beg you, let me. Let me stay with you.”

I wrapped my arms around his shoulders, encaging him, and whispered back, “Didn’t we say forever?”

“Yes, my Mina. Forever.”

Though I enjoyed the moment, my witch-self had sent me a flashback to the first time I had said this word to Remi. His first response…

Eternity is not something I can control.

Raymond

If there was such a thing as dying of happiness, I could experience it at any moment.

Today, when I dropped Mina off at school, she paused for a moment and turned back, running back to give me a small kiss on the cheek. “Work hard. I’ll work hard too.”

I couldn’t react at that moment, but when I got into the car, I brought my hands to my face.

This couldn’t be real. She was so cute. We were so cute. I wanted to do even the silliest clichés with her.

Like a normal, healthy couple.

I sat down on the couch, trying to wipe the smile off my face.

“Ray.” Even when Sebastian Loxton entered the room, my mood hadn’t soured. I was almost happy to see him. My desire to live had reached its peak.

“Oh, my father?”

I stood up to hug him but Sebastian stepped back as if I were contagious.

“What the hell are you doing?” he asked with disgust. Really, what was I doing? I wanted to hug everything. Life had suddenly become so bearable.

“And…” His gaze went to my throat. “You have interesting taste, son. I never thought you’d like this.”

I smiled, truly proud of my neck’s condition. My Mina had created a work of art, beautifying everything she touched. Those moments were so intense that I could spend at least a year or two reliving them, or even create a separate dream data for myself with every little frame.
