When I realized I said these words aloud, I felt a strange sense of shame. I opened my eyes, but she was smiling.

I knew she said it without much thought, just to respond, but I still let the words warm me. As her gentle hands ran through my hair, I closed my eyes again. Whenever I was with her, I wished to stop time. I wanted it to stop flowing.

No. I would find a way. I would keep my promise of eternity and love her forever. No matter what it cost me.
