“What about it? I’ll keep true to my word, your expenses for the building are covered. I’ll continue to pay your rent, and you’ll continue to give me ten percent until those costs are recouped. I’m not changing my mind, that’s a done deal.”

“And if we break up? You won’t feel that way if you end up hating me.”

“I could never hate you.” He pulls me closer, rolling onto his back, and I’m half-strewn atop him, my leg draped over his as I prop myself up to meet his gaze.

“Easy to say now, while we’re in bed together.” I glance down at his cock and pull my lip between my teeth. The temptation is there, wanting him, wanting this to be real, wanting my business to flourish and his career to succeed. “There’s a lot on the line.”

“No less than when we were pretending to like one another.” His hands smooth down my back, his touch gentle yet coaxing. “I really like you, Juniper. I want to give this a real try, but if you think it’s a mistake—”

“What we did isn’t a mistake,” I say, making it clear how I feel. “I like you too. I’m just worried what happens after we break up. We live in the same building; there’s a lot at stake.”

“You keep saying that. I only see the good things that will happen,” Myles says.

“And you think I’m cursing our relationship from the beginning?” I move to sit up, and he grabs me by the hips, rolling me once again onto my back, trapping me. This time he’s flush against my body, his hips pinning me to the bed, his gaze staring down at me.

“What are you afraid of, Pint Size?” he whispers. “Really?”

My tongue darts out, and a soft puff of air escapes my lips. “Losing you.”

A wry smile tugs at the corners of his lips. “That’s it? That’s your biggest fear?”

Isn’t that enough?

I stare at him like he’s not seeing the bigger picture. “I could screw everything up for you, for me, this could be an epic disaster.”

“Or hear me out, it could be the best thing that’s ever happened to you. To us.”

“There is no us,” I whisper. “It’s always been a lie. Fake.”

“It doesn’t have to be that way anymore,” he murmurs and leans down to kiss me. The kiss is soft, sweet, tentative, and I kiss him back, harder, deeper, needing the reassurances from him. “If it doesn’t work out, we can still be friends. And if it doesn’t last a year, then we’ll deal with the PR stuff then, but I’m betting it’s going to last a whole lot longer. We already know we’re compatible in bed…”

I smack his arm. “That’s not a reason to date someone.”

“Are you sure? Because we could go back to fake dating, take sex off the table—”

“God, no!” My eyes widen at the implication that I won’t get to climb into bed with him again. “That sounds horrible. My toy at home is nothing in comparison to what you did for me,” I whisper, laughing, realizing how sex-crazed he makes me.

“Wow, I’m better than a sex toy.” His lips quip upward. “I like the sound of that, not that I need to compete with a toy, they can be instrumental in the bedroom.” He wiggles his eyebrows at me. “Dating it is?”

“Are you asking me to be your girlfriend?”

“I am,” he whispers, kissing the spot just below my ear, his mouth hovering against my neck, his breath tickling me, warming me up all over again. “Juniper, will you be my real girlfriend?”

“No.”

“What?” His brow pinches, and he pulls back.

“I don’t want to be your real girlfriend or your fake girlfriend. I just want to be yours.”

He snorts and kisses my neck repeatedly, forcing a fit of giggles to escape my lips as I squirm under him.

“Fine, I’ll be your girlfriend!” I squeal. “Happy now?”

“Yes,” Myles says, his lips against mine as his hands dance across my stomach and down between my thighs.

“Me too,” I moan, feeling quite elated. I reach down between us, wanting to stroke his cock and make him feel good.

I’m pleasantly surprised to feel that he’s already hard, again. “Wow.” The grin refuses to leave my face. “Is this … typical for you?”
