“This okay?” He moves closer, and that’s when I realize the top halves of our bodies are touching.
Both of us are being mindful of the other, but if he is feeling like me right now, there isn’t a part of him that I don’t want touching me.
I caress him, my timid touch morphing into pure greed, taking my time traveling down the Alaskan plains. “I’m more than okay.” I clutch his hips, adding pressure with my fingers for him to come closer.
He stops right where our lower halves are about to meet. Alaska has his head down, staring at where we can be connected if he takes that last step. I won’t rush him or force him.
This is new for both of us, and it’s important that he is ready. Hell, I don’t even know if I’m ready. What I do know is I have a deep sense of trust and safety in him, and it isn’t because he is a vampire. It’s him as a person. As a man.
Whatever being a fated mate is, I feel it.
I belong to him.
And it feels so good to belong.
He looks up, two rubies darting between my light emeralds. “Fuck.” His lips grab onto mine at the same time he closes the distance between us at last.
His hard length rubs against mine, and I cry down his throat from the immediate pleasure.
“Fucking Hell.” The words slip down my throat in a seductive moan.
“Feels good. Feels so fucking good. Don’t… Don’t stop.” Nothing else matters. The entire world fades away. My mind stops overthinking, and I completely fall into him.
I want more, and I don’t want to stop until…I’m his.
The air is forced from my lungs when my surroundings become a blur. I sway when everything stills. I stumble to catch myself on the bed.
The bed.
I look around, and he has somehow gotten us to his bedroom. When I find him, he is closing the door, his back leaned against it, and when it closes, it’s with the softest click that I can barely hear.
“This okay?” he questions again, the low light showcasing the valleys of his abs.
Holy shit, he looks good.
No one should look like this. Come on. I didn’t stand a chance when Alaska brought me here.
“It’s more than okay.”
I gasp when he is in front of me in the blink of an eye. “You move fast.”
“I can move slow.” He pokes a finger against my chest, adding pressure to get me to lie down. “When it matters.”
Jesus Christ.
He crawls over me, settling his body on mine while caging my head in with one arm. I rake my gaze down his chest. The wound is fully healed. It’s gone. It doesn’t look like he was struck with an arrow. The evidence has vanished.
I rub the spot that could have been the deadly wound that took him from me.
“I love your hands on me.”
“I love my hands on you.”
He grins, clutching my waist, rubbing his fingers against the dip in my torso. Alaska takes his time bringing his lips to mine, and I know it’s so I don’t feel rushed.
If I knew it would feel like this…I would have rushed the moment I opened my eyes.
I stretch my neck, making the move to settle our lips together again. This is how they should always be. Every second of every day. Nothing else matters. Only him. Only his kiss.
