The guy’s name is Baron?

Why are we even considering the guy as a biker when his name sounds like his dad owns an oil field or a cattle ranch?

“Because after he threw me down the stairs, I said some shit about the chick he was fucking last night,” Baron admits. “Banter shit. He got all messed up about it.”

Knox turns to face me, and I work hard to get myself under control. “This about Della?”

“He didn’t just say shit to me. Turns out, he said it to Della too,” I say.

Knox steps between me and the guy hanging there. “What did you say about Della?”

The prospect glances over Knox’s shoulder at me.

Vandal huffs. “I got our fucking boy, and your president asked you a question.”

“Tell him everything, you cunt,” I mutter.

“Didn’t say shit to her face. Lorrie called Della a pity fuck,” the prospect says.

Havoc winces, and Knox runs his hand over his chin. Prez says, “Guessing there’s more to it than that.”

The prospect’s eyes are wide, and honestly, I can smell his fear. “I might have said pity fucks is what Sunny is good at. How he and Ridge have bets about how many times they can make desperate girls come. And how I wouldn’t have chased her chubby ass.”

“And?” I say, hating the way he spoke about Della.

“I might have mentioned to Lorrie about how the last time he did that, he kicked the woman out after. And how…”

I glare at the asshole.

“Fine, I said how I bet the girl in his room right then had creamed more than she had in her life. And how I bet she had fucking cobwebs down there. Like, am I wrong? She looked frigid and dowdy.”

I surge forward, but Vandal and Ridge do exactly what Knox wanted them to do and yank me back by the shoulders.

“She fucking heard them, Prez. Lorrie got up to get them water and saw Della in the hallway. And Della left. Without telling me how to find her. Because this cunt disrespected her. So, I want a vote to strip his patch, right now.”

“Fuck’s sake,” Knox mutters. “I need to take Maren to a baby appointment, not deal with this.”

North steps forward. “So he said some shit about a woman in the clubhouse and you’re hurt about it. It’s not a reason to strip a prospect. You’ve known her, what, like three days? It’s not like she’s your old lady.”

I glare at North. “Fuck you too. And who made up the rule that a woman has to be an old lady before we treat her with a little respect? Fucking stupid rule. I like her. Shouldn’t that be enough for you not to be cunts to her so I can get to know her better?”

Ridge’s hand squeezes my shoulder. A subtle reminder that he’s there, but also that I’m yelling at the club’s vice president.

Knox looks at Reaper. “Get him down. Treat him.” Then, looks to Baron. “We know who you are. We know where you live. So, you’re gonna go with Reaper. And you’re gonna tell whoever needs to hear it that you came off your bike.”

“I’m sorry,” Baron says, spluttering. “I didn’t know the bitch would be listening. I wouldn’t have…please. I want to be here. I already know stuff about the club I probably shouldn’t because I pay attention. I want to…don’t let some upset bitch decide—”

The sound of a bullet hitting the floor right by Baron’s feet reverberates around the place so loud, I wince.

Didn’t even see Knox pull his gun. But Baron is suddenly silent. “I’m making an executive decision. You’re gone.”

“But I thought—”

“Shut the fuck up.” Knox walks up to him. “I might have been of a mind to let Sunny cool off and let you back in six weeks. But one thing no brother will ever do is threaten us into letting him stay. So, save your ‘I already know stuff about the club’ bullshit. Because if you ever breathe a word about this, I won’t kill you straight away. But I’ll kill your mother. And then, I’ll kill your sister and those two kids of hers. And when I’m done, once I’ve made you watch us kill every single person you ever loved, I’ll kill you.”

The smell of piss suddenly permeates the air, and a dark stain grows on Baron’s crotch.

Knox takes a knife and cuts him down, letting him fall to the floor. And as expected, Baron puts out his hands to stop his face from hitting the ground, meaning his broken arm takes the weight, bone appearing through skin.
