And wonder who knows I’m here.

SUNNY
“Sunny!” Knox bursts through the doors of the garage. “What the fuck are you doing?”
I look at the prospect hanging from the ceiling. I flipped some rope over the metal pipe, then tied it around both his wrists. He’s bruised and beaten and worse for wear. “What does it look like I’m doing?”
“It looks like you’re in the middle of losing your motherfucking mind, is what it looks like,” Knox says.
Havoc walks in behind him. So do Ridge, North, Vandal, and Reaper. Great, an audience.
“Why is a prospect hanging from the ceiling?” North asks in that calm and unruffled way of his.
“He’s gone mad,” the prospect splutters. So, I punch his mouth again.
“That one’s gonna hurt,” Ridge says, coming over to stand next to me like he always does. He has my back. I know it without asking. Because Ridge is like the older brother I never had.
“I think he already broke my arm when he threw me down the stairs,” the prospect says.
Reaper winces when his gaze shifts to the guy’s arm. “Given your arm ain’t meant to bend in more places than your wrist and elbow, I’d hazard a guess you’re correct.”
“Fuck me,” Havoc says. “I found that little shit in my bedroom when I got back to the clubhouse an hour ago. He was fucking Lorrie, Steffi’s friend, in my bed. I must have forgotten to lock up, but that doesn’t mean some asshole can get freaky in my sheets. Sunny helped me kick him out.”
North grimaces. “That’s gross. But the guy should be doing your laundry right now with two functioning arms, and we should be discussing at church whether he’ll be getting kicked out of the program for disrespect. Not…” He gestures towards me. “This.”
I woke up alone after one of the best nights of my life. Once the night’s events had surfaced in my brain, I’d reached around for Della, only to find my bed empty. At first, I’d figured she must be in the bathroom, or gone to the kitchen for coffee.
As I waited for her to come back to bed, I’d replayed every moment. And not just how off-the-charts good the sex had been, although, there had been many high points that made my cock harden. I’d thought Della and I had made some kind of connection and was looking forward to talking to her and seeing what we could do about it. For a couple of minutes, I’d been bone-deep happy, until I looked around the room and found that everything belonging to her was gone. Then, I panicked. Had someone taken her? Had she been hurt? Had someone laid a hand on her in the kitchen?
I’d never tugged on jeans and boots so fast. I’d thundered around the clubhouse looking for her. The kitchen. The medical room. The bar. The dock. And hadn’t found a sign of her.
One of the prospects working security in the garage had heard me shouting her name and told me she’d walked in there and demanded her keys and just drove away.
I doubted myself. Tried to tell myself I was just too into the moment. Then, I wondered if I did something wrong. Whether Della had convinced herself last night wasn’t what she wanted.
Or maybe she’d just woken up and felt shy or embarrassed about what we’d done.
I wondered if this was something I could fix.
Maybe ride to see her and lay shit out. That I, Sunny, wanted to date her and get to know her better. Definitely fuck her some more. Maybe see if we could amount to something.
And just as I’d decided that was my plan for the day, the phone rang. My mom. Again. I debated answering.
But then, I heard Havoc come back and start yelling. So, I stepped out of my room, dressed in only my jeans and boots, to see what was going on. Which was Lorrie getting literally tossed out of Havoc’s room. She hit the wall with a thud.
The prospect, I think his name is Byron or Brian or some shit, put up a fight, giving me a target for the frustration I felt.
With my mood less than stellar, I helped Havoc kick him out of the clubhouse and planned to leave him on the curb…until he opened his mouth and started talking.
“So, how’d we go from that to this shit show?” Knox asks, bringing me back to this shit show.
“Tell him,” I say, hoping that the speed at which Knox fell for Maren will help Knox understand why I’m so fucking mad.
“You gotta keep Sunny away from me, if I do,” the prospect says.
Knox tips his head at Vandal. “Go stand the other side of Sunny. Ridge, you and Vandal stop Sunny from going Ginsu on Baron’s ass, no matter what comes out of his mouth. Baron, you have my word. Why are you here?”
