I pulled him towards the door.
“My guests…” he said, life returning to his voice a tiny bit.
“Not Seth though. I’ll check in on him. You stay away. I don’t trust that arsehole.”
“You don’t trust anyone.”
“I trust you,” I said, and weirdly, I was telling the truth. Fuck me if that made any sense at all.

Ileft Owain to settle down a bit and shower before joining his guests for dinner while I went to check on the dickhead ex-boyfriend.
The whole thing with Nathan had left us both pretty confused, and we couldn’t exactly talk about it because I wasn’t supposed to know Owain was a psychopomp and he didn’t know I already did know despite not…being supposed to know. It was a whole thing.
So I reluctantly left him alone to gather his wits and went to give Seth a piece of my mind. Hospitably, of course. Owain said we always had to be kind and polite.
I thought about Nathan as I trudged my way down the hallway. Why had he disappeared? How did it happen? What did Owain even do? He’d talked to ghosts before, as far as I was aware. None of them had supernova-ed their way out of existence.
I had zero idea.
But…maybe I did know someone who could help.
I reached for my phone, only to frown when I found my pocket empty. “Must have left it in my room. Or Owain’s room?” I mumbled to myself before looking down at my dick. “This is probably your fault.”
I sighed and made my way to Seth’s door, rapping my knuckles obnoxiously loudly on the Mellow Morgue sign.
Seth answered it with a scowl already affixed to his forehead and I watched it deepen as he realised it was me.
“Don’t look so happy to see me, buttercup. I might start getting the vapours,” I said.
He sneered. “You’re not my type.”
“What is your type? Too good for you and out of your league?”
He snorted and crossed his arms. “And you think you’re so much better?” He looked me up and down. “I don’t see it. Just a city boy from London with his cock in his hand, if you ask me.”
“The difference between you and me is that I don’t give my cock a nickname to make it seem bigger than it is. It stands on its own, mate.”
Seth turned red in the face, livid and embarrassed. “This isn’t what I would call great service. Maybe I should speak to the manager.”
“The manager blocked your arse months ago, so good luck,” I said. It was a guess, and a dubious one at best knowing Owain and his soft heart, but the way Seth clenched his jaw let me know I was right on the money.
Good for Owain.
“He doesn’t hold grudges,” Seth said. “I’m sure I can find my way back into his good graces.”
“You won’t be finding your way back into anything of his.” I put my finger dead centre on his chest. “And you will not be touching him. Ever again.”
“How about he tells me that himself.” Seth slapped my hand away.
“I’m telling you. You made him uncomfortable, and I don’t like it when he’s uncomfortable. It makes me testy. And when I’m testy, I’m liable to do something stupid.”
“Should I be scared?” Seth asked.
