“Girl, shut the fuck up.”
She laughed again. “I’m just saying, sis. Now you see what I was talking about.”
I shook my head because I could already tell her ass was probably reminiscing about whatever nigga she’d let do that to her.
“But anyways, I’m on the way to work right now,” I told her.
“Okay, but hold on. How you feeling about everything?”
I looked out the window for a second before answering.
“Honestly, sis, I don’t even know. I enjoyed myself, but now I’m sitting here wondering if I should’ve even let it happen.”
“Why?”
“Because it’s Cassian. You know everything that happened between us, and I still don’t know if I can trust him like that.”
“I get what you’re saying, but you ain’t gotta figure all that shit out today. Just don’t let the fact y’all slept together make you forget about everything else.”
“I know, and that’s exactly what I’m trying to do.”
“Well, there you go. Just take your time and see what happens.”
“Yeah, that’s what I’m gonna do.”
Before I could say anything else, my phone started beeping. I pulled it away from my ear and looked at the screen. Speaking of the damn devil. It was Cassian calling.
“Aye, sis, this him calling. Let me see what he wants.”
“Okay, sis. Go ahead and answer the phone for my future brother-in-law.”
“Oh, bitch, please.” I sucked my teeth.
“Don’t oh bitch please me. Watch and see.”
“Alright, sis. I love you.”
“I love you too.”
I clicked over, and as soon as I answered, his deep raspy voice came through the phone.
“Damn, that’s how we doing, ma?”
I frowned. “What you talking about?”
“We just getting up and leaving now? Ain’t no good morning, baby daddy, or nothing.”
I rolled my eyes. “First of all, you are not my baby daddy, and I’m not yo’ baby mama.”
“You sure about that?” he asked, laughing.
“Yes, nigga, I’m sure.”
“Shit, I couldn’t tell after last night.”
“Cassian, don’t start.”
“What? I’m just saying.”
