“Nah, fuck all that laughing. That nigga ain’t did nothing to you, did he?”

“No, girl, he ain’t did nothing to me. I got my phone back last week. Work been keeping me busy.”

I frowned, pulling the phone away from my ear for a second before putting it back.

“What you mean he had your phone?”

Why the hell had this man taken her phone in the first place? He already had her staying at his house, and he’d been controlling when she could talk to somebody too? What the fuck, was she in prison?

“He had his homeboy over at the house watching me while he went to work, so I called the cops and told them I was being kidnapped.” She laughed.

“Serves his ass right, because why the fuck he ain’t letting you go home?” I asked, rolling my eyes.

“He said the dude who was bidding on me is dangerous, and he doesn’t want him getting his hands on me.”

I still didn’t like the sound of that shit, but at least she was okay.

“Well, I miss you, sissy.” I pouted.

“Girl, I miss you too.”

“We need to meet up. What you doing right now?”

“I’m at work.”

“Bet. You wanna go grab something to eat when you get off?”

She let out a breath. “Girl, I would but this nigga called me talking about he wants me to cook tonight.”

“Damn, what are you, his personal maid or something?”

“Nah, but I cooked for him one time, and ever since his ass been wanting me to cook.”

I shook my head. “That’s what yo’ ass get. You know you can throw down when you get in the kitchen.”

“I know, but you should come over.”

“I don’t know about that, sis.”

“And why not?”

“Because you know my mouth. If that nigga says something I don’t like, I might go off on his ass.”

She laughed, and I could already picture her shaking her head on the other end of the phone.

“Girl, you ain’t gotta worry about that. He’s not gonna say anything out of the way.”

“Bitch, I don’t know.”

“Come on, please. I wanna see you too.”

I sighed and leaned back against my pillows. I wanted to see my sister just as much as she wanted to see me, but going over to that man’s house wasn’t exactly how I’d pictured us spending time together.

“Okay, send me the address. I might slide through. I don’t know yet.”

“Okay, I’m going to text it to you.”

We stayed on the phone talking for a little while longer before finally hanging up. I was still lying across my bed when somebody knocked on my door.
