“I need you to come by the warehouse tonight.”

My brows pulled together. “For what?”

“Something I need to handle.”

“Then handle it.”

“Cassian.”

The change in his tone had me lowering the blunt from my mouth.

“What?”

“Just be there.”

I stared ahead for a second. “What time?”

“I'll let you know.”

Before I could ask anything else, his ass hung up.

I pulled the phone away from my ear and looked at the screen.

“The fuck?”

I looked down at the blunt burning between my fingers, then at the glass of wine sitting beside me.

So much for not being bothered tonight.

My dad kept driving, passing turn after turn until I stopped recognizing anything around us. The farther we went, the fewer buildings I saw, and eventually even the streetlights disappeared.

I looked out the window, trying to figure out where the hell we were going. This damn sure wasn’t looking like no buildings for my cosmetic smile studio.

When we finally slowed down and pulled up to a stop in the middle of a wooded area, I jerked my head in his direction.

My dad was already looking at me.

“Dad, where are we?”

Instead of answering, he took a deep breath and pushed his door open. I sat there watching him walk around the front of the Range Rover before coming to my side. He opened the door and held his hand out.

“Dad.” I placed my hand in his and stepped out. “Are you going to answer me?”

He let out a heavy breath before tightening his hand around mine.

“Baby, you know I love you, right?”

My brows pulled together. What the hell kind of question was that?

“Yeah.” I slowly nodded. “Why?”

“Good.” He glanced away from me. “But Daddy needs you to do him a favor.”

“What kind of favor?”

Now I was really confused. My father didn’t ask me or my sister for favors. Hell, whenever we tried to do something for him, especially anything involving money, he’d damn near cuss us out and tell us to keep it.

“You’ll see once we get inside.”
