She grew instantly embarrassed as the realization as to what she’d just said in front of Wade hit her.
But the way he still held her hand didn’t lead her to believe he was upset or weirded out by it.
Of course, there was no way he didn’t already know about the diaper. Her short babydoll dress didn’t come close to covering it, especially with the way she’d jumped and weaved inside that haunted house.
And he’d already mentioned it back in the community center’s kitchen, when he’d threatened to pull it down and spank her.
So, yeah—obviously her unique wardrobe choice was no big shock to him.
Still, it was strange to acknowledge.
“It was amazing,” Katie agreed. “That part where Dracula sprang out of the grave really got me. I was glad I had this diaper on, too. And it’s the new Mountainville Supreme, so it really took the abuse.”
Everyone laughed.
“Speaking of, honey, I better change you.”
The words Wade spoke stopped Carly dead in her tracks. A chill traced her spine, but it had nothing to do with what she’d just experienced inside that attraction or the sounds of spooky laughter and a chainsaw that still reached her ears.
“Uh, you do?”
“That’s what Daddies do, honey.”
She was beyond excited but also terribly nervous. “Yeah. It is…what Daddies do, I suppose.”
“I need to go check in with my Mommy for the same thing,” Eli stated.
“Yeah. I need to see Dax,” Stella admitted.
“Same. Hey, we could all go get tidied up and then meet back in front of the ice cream shop if y’all wanted,” Katie suggested. “Then, after a treat, we could play in the ball pit.”
It was Wade who answered, “Sounds like a wonderful idea.”
Carly was shocked at how easily he was taking to this. It appeared as if they weren’t wasting any time. Wade was in full Daddy mode now.
And Carly was his Little.
Chapter Twenty
Wade knew Carly was nervous.
That was normal, he figured. This was a big step for them. And, while on one hand it seemed as if they’d known each other forever, in reality they’d only met a few days ago.
But so much had happened in that brief amount of time.
The fact that they were meant for each other—something he’d suspected the moment he laid eyes on her in her kitchen—was only cemented by the revelation that she was indeed a Little.
That being said, this was all still so new, and it made sense that Carly was nervous. The best way to get her through it, he figured, was to just power on. So, he didn’t skip a beat as he carried her into the spare bedroom at his rental house.
The nursery.
It was equipped with an adult-sized changing table that he laid her on before grabbing one of the diapers he’d bought from the store earlier.
“You already have diapers?” she managed to say in a trembling voice.
“Sure do. I was so confident you were here that I stocked up before I even found you.”
The disposable garment rustled loudly as he unfolded it.
