“I knew I’d need to take care of my little girl,” he continued.

A serene smile replaced the look of nervousness Carly had previously worn, but it didn’t last long. The moment he unfastened the tapes on her used nappy, she looked unsure once again.

“Don’t worry, honey. Daddy’s here. Based upon how wet this is—” He pushed in on the cotton and plastic between her legs and found it quite squishy— “I’m going to be keeping you in pampers quite a bit. All the time, maybe. I don’t think you’re ready for big girl panties.”

Again, that mask of nervousness morphed into something else. It took Wade a moment to settle on what he thought Carly was feeling, but it soon became clear she was content and excited.

Pulling the used diaper away from her skin, Wade took extra special care when cleaning his sweetie’s most sensitive area with a wet wipe he’d pulled from a package on the bottom shelf. Carly squirmed and cooed a little, and Wade smiled the entire time.

A puff of powder was next, followed by the dry diaper.

Once it was taped up, Wade said, “Now comes the most important part. The part Daddies love the most. Turn around, get that cute bottom in the air, and let me see how adorable it is.”

Carly eagerly obliged, giggling the entire time.

Once she was on her knees and elbows, Wade gave her padded booty a few playful swats.

“The most adorable thing I’ve ever seen in my life. I swear, little one, if I could bottle you up…”

The whole thing felt so normal, Wade noted silently. Based upon the way Carly had seemed to relax, it felt right to her, too.

Once he’d picked her up and had her feet back on the floor, he gave her another kiss and then said, “Where are you staying?”

“A little apartment not far from here.”

“There’s plenty of room here, if you’d like.”

Her nose crinkled as she smiled, a knowing look in her eyes. “But I only saw two bedrooms and one of them is this nursery.”

Wade winked. “Exactly.”

Her giggle was as adorable as the sight of her standing there in her diaper and short babydoll dress.

“No pressure. About anything. If I move too fast, you tell me,” he said.

It didn’t take her any time at all to say, “I want to stay here, Daddy. I wanted to stay with you the first day we met. And then the other days when you’d come see me at the fair, I wanted to go home with you so badly!” She looked embarrassed as she admitted, “I cried one of those days. Just a little. But I just hated to see you go.”

The thought of his babygirl crying as he left was almost more than Wade could take.

One thing was for sure: he couldn’t promise her she would never cry again. But he could promise her he’d wipe away every teardrop that fell.

“I’m here now, baby doll. And I’m not going anywhere.”

Wrapping her in a powerful embrace, he gently swayed her for a moment, his chin resting on the top of her head. Then, giving her one more kiss where his chin had been, he took a moment to breathe in the scent of her hair before saying, “We better go meet your friends. But it’s getting late and kind of chilly out. Do you have any leggings or something to put on with that dress?”

“No.”

“I bet the store is closed.” He thought it over for a few seconds. “Did you at least bring long pants, honey?”

“I have jeans, Daddy.”

“Okay. Let’s swing by your apartment and get them. It’s too cool for those perfect legs of yours to be exposed—though I’m going to miss the view of your little bottom as you play.”

At Carly’s apartment, she changed, grabbed Mr. Pumpkin head, and then they met the other Littles at the ice cream shop. Stryker and Harrison were there, too.

The Littles’ Bigs came, as well.

Wade met Bradley, who was Katie’s Daddy, along with Eli’s Mommy, Nancy. Dax—Stella’s husband and Daddy—showed up, too, as did Diana with Harrison and Amelia with Stryker.
