“It was about dang time I lost it.” She smirks, and finally looks down at my cock, which is still bobbing about. “That went in me?” Her voice raises at the end with disbelief. “So, they aren’t all as big as that?”

I grab a tissue and remove the condom, tossing it in the trash can. “Josie.” I choose my wording carefully. “Don’t play. You’ve seen a cock or two besides mine.” Nah, she’s messing with me.

“No.” Her lips form a perfect O as she responds.

“You’ve done other stuff, though, right? You said I was good with using my tongue. Sorry if other guys couldn’t please you that way.”

“You were good with your tongue. I’ve heard so many horror stories of guys not knowing what the hell they’re doing down there.” he giggles. “Stella has the worst luck.”

“How many lines have you crossed, Miss Callahan?” My hands rest on each side of her thighs as I lean in an inch from her face.

“Before you? I kissed five guys. One was in the 7th grade as a dare, and the others…” She trails off and looks over at the shower. “The other guys were brief boyfriends or for show at a party with Stella.”

“Have you ever kissed a guy because you absolutely wanted to?” I ask as bile filters in my gut. How much of an influence did Stella have on Josie’s actions? On Josie giving herself up to me?

“I wanted to kiss you.” Her hands reach out and trace the valleys between my abs. “And I wanted us to have sex.” Thank goodness.

I back away, needing a moment to clear my head. “You should go to the bathroom.” The door handle rests under my hand behind me. “Always pee after sex. UTIs are a bitch and can easily happen if you don’t.” I answer her silent question.

“Well, isn’t that sexy after a hot moment,” she mumbles as my feet walk me back to my bedroom.

The mattress welcomes my exhausted, overworked body just as the door to the bathroom opens. “Josie.” My voice filters through the suit.

“Mmhmm?” She walks toward my bed with eyes searching for the towel.

“Come lie down.” My arm opens, inviting her to the spot next to me. “Our nightly conversations are something I look forward to.”

“But I’m naked this time.” Her cheeks blend in with the color of her hair.

“Even better.” A smirk stretches across my face as my hand beckons her over again. “Unless you’d rather hump and dump me, I guess I’ll survive talking to myself.”

JOSIE

“Well, that just happened.” My heart is still racing with the adrenaline rush. I stare up at the ceiling, but should probably face him because I never knew sex could be that good. Especially for the cliché shitty first time. “Why did I put it off for that long?” He remains quiet, knowing I’m so far into my head. He chuckles, sliding his arm under my neck, and places a kiss on my temple. “My body still feels like you’re inside me. My veins are legit pulsating, Emmett.”

“When sex is that mind-blowing, that’ll happen.” He laughs, placing another kiss on my head. “My cock is still twitching.”

“So, you’re saying it’s not always this good?” I’ve heard the horror stories and complaints from Stella, but after feeling him tear me open, yet have me crying out in a new level of pleasure, I can’t imagine hooking up with someone and receiving anything less.

“Well,” He trails off in thought, and I wonder why he’s choosing his words carefully. “A guy doesn’t need much to happen for him to come. So, it’s hard to say sex for a guy is bad. Some chicks can be more fun than others.”

Some chicks. Right. A sinking feeling takes over, even though I’m fully aware I don’t want to be anything more than what we are. “Let’s not make things awkward, okay?” I wrack my brain with our current moment and reach to remove his arm acting as a pillow from under me. “Even though we just fucked, you don’t have to feel obligated to cuddle me.”

“So, you do swear.”

“Just stating the obvious.” Turning on my side, I prop myself up on my elbow. “Thank you for talking me through the pain. I’m intrigued how you fuck when I don’t need to be treated as fragile.”

“Not happening again, Josie.” His eyes tell the lie, but he doesn’t elaborate.

“And why is that?” Annoyance slips through my tone, and I have a feeling I know why. “You think I’m going to go and get attached?” Sitting up, I pull the sheet to cover me. “Who initiated the cuddling?”

“Calming down from the high alone in your room could make you feel used. Your body releases chemicals. Cuddling skin on skin will also help heal some of your pain with the oxytocin release.”

“So now you’re a scientist?” I hear myself scoff, but settle back down on his chest and turn my head to him.

“I’m being a gentleman, Josie. But maybe you do need a minute alone.” He props himself on his elbow, facing me. “Sex that incredible usually doesn’t make people cranky.”

“The reason I want us to happen again is so that my body can adjust. I want the next guy I hook up with to not cause me pain, or have me feel uncomfortable from trying to figure out what I like.” Draping my leg over his hip, I pull his arm back down to rest my head on. “You can help show me the ropes.”
