“Ropes?” His smile is coy. “We can play with those too.”

“Not what I meant, but I have an open mind.” His arm tightens around me as I cuddle closer, tracing the outline on his chest. “Do you have a tattoo on your ass?” My voice raises in question, but I swear I caught a glimpse of it.

“I take your virginity and now the curse words come out?” I guess the spike of a pleasured high has brought out the cursing.

“Answer the tattoo question. It looked like a stick?” I lift the covers to take a peek, and he pulls the covers over our head.

“Oh, that...” He trails off. “That was a drunken mistake at seventeen.”

“You’re also acting like a child right now by trapping us in a fort.”

“It’s a cigarette,” he sighs, pulling the covers back.

I stifle my giggle and sit up as Emmett angles his hip down to show me the one-inch cigarette. “Why on earth would you get that on your ass?”

“It’s a cigarette butt,” he says, letting himself laugh. “Get it?”

“Oh, I do.” Shaking my head, I join in his laughter. “That’s so dumb. Why don’t you get rid of it?”

“Because, even if you no longer see the regret, it doesn’t mean it was never there.” His brown eyes look into mine as Emmett transforms his dumb past decision into something poetic.

“That was actually a beautiful response.”

“Something right out of your book.” His fingers brush loose strands of my hair behind my ear as he looks into my eyes. A second later, he busts into a laugh.

“What’s so funny?”

“I’m just trying to picture what a writer would say about what just happened.” He shakes his head with a smile. “His hand lifts, stealing the breath from my lungs as he gently tucks my messy, freshly fucked hair out of my face.”

My hand lifts, shoving his shoulder playfully. “Not exactly.” I can’t bring myself to lie. “Okay, you’re pretty bang on. Pun intended.”

“I’m going to write my own romance book. What men actually think in the moment.”

“Women prefer men written by women.” I shoot him a challenging look, and a second later, he’s hovering above me, caging me in as I feel his dick grind into my leg.

“Your fictional men can’t jump out of the pages to please you, though.”

“True. It’s tough living in the non-fiction world most days. Maybe I’ll just write my own fictional man up.” My teeth bite my bottom lip. “Share my dream boy with the world.”

“Have you started writing yours yet?” he asks in all seriousness. “You said a while back that was a dream of yours.”

“It’s a dream I haven’t prioritized.” A story has been forming, but the ending is still up in the air, and I need to figure that out before I’m able to begin the author journey.

“Do it.” With a peck on my nose, he rolls onto his back and turns his head in my direction. “Thank you, Josie.”

“For sharing my dream?” I watch his eyes soften as the scan my face.

“For trusting me enough to be your first. You say it was about time to get it over with, but there was a reason you held on to it.” A smile emerges on my face as I lift his arm to hold me like earlier. “Thank you for letting me be your dirty talking alpha.” His serious face can’t help but break into a smirk, and he earns another smack from me.

“Whatever.” I relax in his strong arms as my head rests on his chest. “Now goodnight. I have to be up early.” Though it’s dark, my fingers absentmindedly trace over his chest ink until his breathing becomes even. And just like this past weekend, my sated body has one of the best sleeps I’ve had.

Lunch at the bistro tastes bitter. Or the result of my mood is oozing out of my senses. The sandwich rests on my tongue with the fact that I can’t gloat to my friends about losing it to a billionaire, who also doubled as a book boyfriend fantasy, without me blowing my cover. To Stella and Emery, they were oblivious to my innocence. I may still be sore from the other night, but Emmett has put me to sleep with his skilled tongue the past three nights.

“Josie.” Emery waves a fry in front of my face. “You’ve got lust overflowing from your eyes. What are you thinking about?”

“This morning.” I speak slowly. Waking up in his arms released another dose of endorphins. His arms stayed wrapped around me tight as my hand gently stroked his dick. The way our lips moved while I climbed on top, needing to feel him slip inside me once more. The sting was still fresh, but the deepness he reached inside my stomach was a pleasure worth experiencing. Mornings would be better off if that’s how they always started. And after, his strong arms carried me to the shower as the stream of water beat down on my clit while he talked me through another wave of pleasure.
