"You have to see this!"

Storm and Ben followed her to the starboard rail.

"What is it?"

She pointed toward the water.

A sea turtle floated lazily just beneath the surface.

Its shell glowed emerald beneath the clear blue water.

"It stayed with us for almost ten minutes."

She raised her camera.

Click.

Click.

Click.

"It looks ancient."

"It probably is," Storm said softly.

Grandpa used to call them the old travelers.

"He always said sea turtles remembered oceans we'd never see."

Ben smiled.

"He had a saying for everything."

I heard a chuckle. "He really did."

That evening...

The sun disappeared in a blaze of orange.

Dinner stretched into another long evening filled with stories.

Frank told everyone about accidentally proposing to Rose with the ring box upside down.

Scott nearly fell out of his chair laughing.

"So..."

Scott managed between laughs.

"She almost said no because she couldn't find the ring?"

Rose smiled.

"I said yes before he even opened the box."

Frank reached across the table and squeezed her hand.

"I got lucky."
