“Get her and Myome to do an interview saying there’s no drama between them and Retta and record one more song under Radiant Reverie and we’ll sign off.”

“So you can try to launch Retta solo?” I asked.

“Is it a deal or no?”

“I’ll talk to my wife and get back to you.”

“Fine. Do that, but the deal is only good for twenty-four hours, Drix.”

“That’s cool. My lawyer will be in touch.” I nodded once and pushed away from the table. “Thanks for the time, gentlemen.”

“Of course.”

I waited for my lawyer to climb up and we walked out together.

“I’ll call you with the answer and you can deal with them,” I announced.

“Okay. Sure.”

“Thanks, man.” I shook his hand and we parted ways so I could head home.

I was only fifteen minutes into my drive when a call from Allison popped up on the screen.

“What’s up?” I answered after letting it ring three times.

“I know what you need.”

“What I need?” I repeated.

“For the label,” she clarified.

“A’ight. Tell me what I need then.”

“A country singer.”

“A country singer?”

“That’s right. There’s plenty of rappers on this wave of having country artists sing their choruses and country music is abooming industry. It couldn’t hurt to add a country singer to the roster and you said you wanted something that wasn’t pop, R&B, or rap. This is it.”

“And I’m guessing you have someone in mind already?”

“That’s right. His name is Kevo. He’s been a country singer for years now and his contract is up for renewal, so if you pitch to him soon, you may be able to get him.”

“A’ight. Thanks for letting me know.”

“Of course.”

As soon as we hung up, I put my new music on so I could listen to the verses that had been laid down recently and make sure I truly liked it. When I got home, Myome was stepping out of the shower looking and smelling good as hell. I kissed her shoulder then her cheek.

“Hey.”

“Hey.” She smiled at me in the mirror.

“You look beautiful, baby.”

“I’m not even dressed yet, Berlin.”

“I said what I said.” I winked at her and a huge smile took over her face but she elbowed me lightly.
