“You’re down to about a mile behind them.Wrath and the others are only a few miles away.Catch up with them but just keep them in sight until the others get there. It will be safer to have the bikes surround the car and get him to pull off or follow him wherever he’s going and then move in once he’s stopped the car.

Hex wanted to tell him to shut the fuck up and that he’d do whatever he wanted to.He would get Elle out of there and make sure she was safe, but the Warrior’s tech sergeant was right. And this wasn’t about teaching Anderson a lesson or making him pay for what he did, there would be time for those later.

Today was about making sure Elle was safe.If the worst happened and she lost the baby, it would hurt but not as bad as it would for him to lose her. He’d known about the baby, loved the idea of it for a couple of weeks. He’d loved Elle for years.Losing her would devastate him.He didn’t even bother to deny it.

“You said a silver Mercedes?”Hex asked, his eyes checking every car he could see.

“No.Lexus.ES 360.”

“I work on Harleys and domestics, I’m not sure what that is.”

“Four door sedan. You’re getting close. You should see it soon.”

Hex didn’t respond as his gaze went from car to car.The first thing his mind registered on each car was color. If it wasn’t silver, he moved on.When he spotted a silver car, if he could see them he checked how many doors, if he was directly behind it, he looked for that distinctive circle L logo.

“I think I’ve got them,” he said finally.“Do you have his plate so I can be sure?”

Hex’s heart seemed to jump in his chest with every digit Cypher gave him. Each one matched. Before they got to the fifth digit, Hex was certain it was the right car.But he only saw one head.

“That shitty camara that you couldn’t get the car make from, could you tell where he put her?”

Cypher fell silent for a few seconds.Probably no more than three or four seconds but it felt like an hour to Hex.

“Back seat, he laid her down.”

That meant if she was still unconscious, then he wouldn’t see her.If she woke up, but didn’t want Anderson to know and was playing possum, he wouldn’t see her.The fuckwad hadn’t had time to stop, hurt her, and then get back on the road.Hex could only hope the idiot hadn’t hit her hard enough to really hurt her when he knocked her out.

He pulled to the side of the car and got close enough he could see the asshole’s face, but he didn’t want to risk him glancing over, seeing Hex and recognizing him.He had to have been following them in order to know where Elle was.He eased off the gas and let a couple of cars move between them, though he didn’t let the fucker out of his sight.Thankfully, Hex’s truck was common enough the fucker wouldn’t think twice about one on the road with him.Hell.Hex had passed at least three others just like his, at least on the outside, since they’d started this shit less than thirty minutes before.

“It’s him,” Hex said once he’d dropped back into traffic.“I can’t be sure Elle’s in the car, but make sure Bones is on alert.Even if she’s alert when we get to her and says she’s fine, I want him to take a look.I’m not taking any risks with her.”

“On it,” came Cypher’s voice from every speaker in the truck.

Four miles down the road, he still followed Anderson and Elle, but Hex heard the rumble of several Harleys coming up behind them.

“That Wrath?”he asked without bothering to address anyone.

His phone was still connected to Cypher.Neither had said much the last few minutes, but Hex had heard the keyboard and a muffled voice in the background that was probably Mud, so he knew the hacker was still there and working. The sounds of a few key strikes came across the line before Cypher answered.

“Yep, they’re coming up behind you now.Wrath just let Mud know they’ve spotted you. They’re going to stay close by, but not right on your ass.You know how this works.”

“I do,” Hex said despite his dry mouth. He swallowed several times as he let his gaze play across the interstate, making sure Anderson hadn’t slipped away.He glanced in the mirror and saw more than a half dozen of his brothers approaching.Elle’s ex changed lanes.Hex waited a moment then did the same, but moved to the outer lane, so he would be there if the fucker realized he was being followed and darted across a lane to exit. He’d have to thank Wrath later for thinking ahead enough to have them ride without colors. It would mean Anderson probably wouldn’t realize they were all together, or that they were part of his club.At least not at first.

Hex didn’t think he was smart enough to realize they were following him, but he might be paranoid enough to suspect it even if he couldn’t spot one.If the fucker suddenly sped up, Hex’s brothers on their bikes would cover that and Hex could catch up.It was only part of why he was so glad his brothers had caught up with them.

The road narrowed as it led toward the twin bridges, making it harder for one tail, much less two, to remain hidden. They could manage, he had no doubt, but he might need to get Cypher to splice the two calls together so they could coordinate.

“Son of a fucking bitch,” Cypher’s voice came across the line, making Hex glance toward the screen in the dash, then shake his head as he wondered why he’d done it.It wasn’t like it was a video screen so he could see what was going on.

“What?”

“Mud’s found something.Give me a sec, I’ll give you details as soon as I get all the specifics.”

Hex took a deep breath and let it out slowly, trying to curb his need to demand answers, now. They couldn’t tell him what they didn’t know, and he had to give them time to find it.

“All right, I’m back,” Cypher’s voice was back a few seconds later.“Mud found that Anderson’s family has property on the eastern shore. It isn’t in Michael’s name. That’s why I didn’t find it on my initial search. But since he’s led you to the twin bridges, I’d say odds are good that’s where he’s headed.”

“The eastern shore is a lot of land to cover, where’s the place exactly?”
