“Livvy mentioned it was your favorite.”

She turned around and smiled shyly. “It’s probably a good thing you didn’t tell me that ahead of time.”

Matt snorted another laugh as he got dressed himself.

Rosie moaned through her second plate of noodles and meatballs. “This is so good, Matt.”

“Save room for dessert.” He winked at her.

“Seriously?”

Matt pulled out a small plastic container and lifted the lid. Inside were brownies cut into heart shapes and dusted with powdered sugar.

“Aw, Matt.” She pushed her plate aside and took the box from his hands. “They’re adorable.”

He blushed, just as cute as his dessert, as she bit into one. They tasted very familiar.

“Did you use my brownie recipe?”

The pink on his cheeks turned bright red. “Olivia snapped a picture of it while she was here, apparently. I wanted to be sure it was something you liked.”

The brownies were chewy and fudgy, just like she always made them. “They’reperfect.” He beamed as she savored the way the chocolate confection melted on her tongue. She shoved the box back at him. “Try one.”

He placed the box down on the table as she licked her fingers clean of chocolate, his gaze never leaving her. “I was thinking of having something else for dessert.”

She paused. “What else could you want?”

When his eyebrows wagged suggestively, he reached for her. “You, angel.” She squealed and ran ahead of him to the bedroom, where he stripped her naked and feasted between her legs before making love to her all night.

Epilogue

“Rosie,areyouready?”

Rosie gripped her hair as she stared at herself in the full-length mirror inside the Lundholms’ bathroom. Technically, it had been several weeks since Olivia’s birthday, but this had been the first weekend everyone could get time off work together. She didn’t want to keep Matt waiting for her in the hall, but suddenly the bikini she’d purchased for Olivia’s birthday pool party seemed … risqué. Especially with his parents around.

When Rosie and Matt had decided to work on their body image issues together, the first thing she did was spill her guts to Mia about her relationship with her curves, and beg for wardrobe help. Mia had been all too happy to play Barbie doll with her again, and they took Jade along on several shopping trips to temper Mia’s enthusiasm. Jade had a natural knack for knowing what clothes would make someone look their best, and Mia helped push her beyond her normal comfort level.

After trying on several far more revealing suits, the bandeau top with matching brief bottoms had seemed plenty tame. The galaxy-print fabric gapped slightly, showing just a hint of cleavage up top. She’d fallen in love with the print right away, of course. And her butt was covered, which was a big comfort.

“I’ll be right out.” It was now or never. She took a deep breath and repeated the mantra Mia had drilled into her head. You are a sexy woman. Then sheslipped her flip-flops on, and opened the door.

Matt leaned against the door in his swim trunks. Just his swim trunks. That had been their deal with each other. He agreed to leave his shirt off for the pool and she would wear a two-piece. The only people at the party were the ones they already considered family. It sounded like a good way to ease into this new life they wanted for themselves.

“Holy shit, Rosie.” His gaze caressed her from her head to her toes and back again. “You look amazing.”

“Thanks. You look great, too.” Unable to help herself, she reached up and ran her fingers through the blond curls on his chest. He shuddered, and stilled her hand.

“You’re gonna get me in trouble.”

She smirked. He loved it when she petted him there. It was an instant turn-on for her boyfriend.

“We’re keeping everyone waiting,” she reminded him.

He took one last look. “I suddenly don’t want to share you.”

“It’s your sister’s birthday!”

“Okay, fine.” Matt pretended to whine, but he grinned. “I’m proud of you.” Her friends had been a huge source of encouragement. Already her closet was looking more varied.
