But his eyes were blazing.
The cold air hit her bare skin, making Mia flinch as her eyes lifted to Alexander in shock. “Mr. Graves—”
But Alexander’s eyes were already burning, jealousy flaring so violently it almost swallowed the space between them. Ever since he had seen her with Harold, that jealousy had been alive inside him… simmering, waiting. And today—after knowing Harold’s true intentions—it had finally snapped its leash.
Before she could say another word, he grabbed her wrists and hauled her closer.
“You need to be punished,” he said, voice low and trembling with fury. “So you remember who your husband is.”
He pulled her away from the wall and lifted her effortlessly, carrying her to the bed as if she weighed nothing. Her heartbeat hammered as he tossed her onto the mattress.
His hand shot up to the loose tie hanging around his neck. With a sharp pull, he stripped it off.
Before she realized what was happening, both her wrists were captured, drawn high above her head. The silk wrapped around her, tightening with ease. Bound against the headboard, she lay trembling—bare, vulnerable, wearing only the thinnest piece of fabric between his hunger and her skin.
Heat crawled up Mia’s neck, her cheeks flushing deep red. Her body shivered under the weight of his stare. But Alexander seemed completely blind to her nervousness, her trembling, her shyness.
The jealousy burning inside him drowned out everything else—every breath tighter than the last.
His hand moved, gripping her remaining clothing. He hooked a finger into the waistband and pulled it down her legs, the soft fabric whispering along her skin until it was gone.
Mia gasped, instinctively trying to close her legs. “Mr. Graves, it’s the middle of the day—”
He froze only for a second.
Then his eyes locked onto hers, hotter than before.
“So?” His voice was rough, raw. “I can’t touch my wife whenever I want?”
His voice wasn’t calm—it carried a rough edge, a mix of anger and desire that made her body tremble. He had never looked at her like this before. The intensity in his gaze felt almost dangerous, as if he wanted to consume her completely, erase everything in her mind except him.
Alexander climbed over her, caging her beneath his body. One hand lifted to her face—shockingly gentle, thumb brushing the corner of her mouth.
“You did something wrong,” he murmured, leaning closer, breath warm against her lips. “And when you make a mistake… you have to be punished.”
She swallowed hard, confusion and heat tangling inside her. Before she could ask what he meant—
He moved.
He lowered his mouth to her body.
He kissed her hungrily, starting at her collarbone and moving downward. His lips traced a path along her chest, her stomach, her sides. His hands followed the shape of her body, gliding over her waist and hips with a control that only made the heat in her chest coil tighter.
Her breaths turned wild, uncontrollable, her voice breaking against her will.
“Ah—” The sound escaped her lips.
Alexander’s head snapped up. His eyes locked onto hers, intense enough to steal her breath.
“You have to keep your voice down,” he whispered. His lips brushed the soft skin of her chest. “You don’t want anyone hearing what your husband is doing to you… do you, Mia?”
Her pulse jumped. She swallowed hard, her body trembling as she gave a quick, shaky nod.
A satisfied expression settled on his face, a look so possessive it made her shiver.
That alone was enough for him to lower his hand again, letting the heat of his palm glide over her chest. His fingers cupped one soft mound, squeezing lightly, while his other hand closed over the other breast.
Then his mouth followed.
