He bought me. He claimed me by force. Now, he expects me to kneel.
Sold to the Triad’s deadliest enforcer as a boy, my life was never my own.
Moon raised me into his perfect weapon, always watching from the shadows, keeping his distance until the day he finally decided I belonged to him.
My best friend, Dash, and I thought leaving Shanghai meant we’d finally escaped the Triad.
We were so wrong.
The moment we return, she is forced into a marriage with Moon’s best friend.
And I’m dragged back into the hands of the only man whose path was always intertwined with mine. A savage demon who mistakes obsession for love, and craves my total submission.
I hate him. But I hate the part of me that wants him even more.
He decides when I breathe. How I live. When I die.
But I’m no longer the frightened boy he bought. If he wants me… he’ll have to bleed for it.
Before this is over, I’ll make him beg. While I slowly, torturously, kill his only reason for living.
That’s not a threat. It’s a promise.
A Threat, Not A Promise is L.A. Wayward’s debut novel after an extended hiatus and the first in the Master Peace duet. This is a high-heat, pitch-black romance featuring two separate, interconnected couples—one MM and one supporting MF couple.
The Tropes & Vibes:
Black flag obsession
Forceful claiming
Unhinged possessiveness
Toxic codependency
Deviant behavior and high spice
These pookies will fight hard to get their happily ever after. The duet must be read in order. Please read the trigger warnings before you start the mayhem. Proceed with caution.
