She came to Bear Creek to take the vacation her ex ruined. She didn’t expect to find a bear shifter who already knows she’s the one.
Mara Benton was supposed to spend ten romantic fall days in Bear Creek with the man she thought she’d build a family with.
Instead, she arrives alone, newly single, and determined not to let a broken relationship steal the vacation too.
Then she walks into a bakery filled with cinnamon, coffee, and one very distracting baker.
Gabe Roper knows the instant Mara enters Bear Creek that he’s found his mate.
His bear is delighted.
Gabe is trying very hard to behave like a normal man.
Because Mara has only just ended a long relationship, she knows nothing about shifters, and the last thing Gabe wants is to turn fate into another man telling her what her future should look like.
So he gives her time.
Time for fall-color walks and lantern-lit evenings. Time for cinnamon bears, family chaos, and ordinary days behind the bakery counter. Time for Mara to discover that Bear Creek might offer more than a beautiful place to escape to, and for Gabe to show her that knowing she’s his mate isn’t the same as expecting her to choose him.
But Mara’s old life isn’t quite finished with her yet.
And before Gabe can tell her the truth, the man she left behind comes to Bear Creek wanting her back.
