Jameson Kane. Or ‘Candy Kane’ as he’s known on the ice for his skills as the school’s top defensive player. They call him an enforcer with a beautiful face. I call him my boyfriend. The love of my life. My first everything.
My future is planned, a map of perfection to reach my ultimate goal of playing professional women’s hockey. In this snapshot of my future I’ve always pictured Jameson by my side, thriving in his career while we take on the world together.
Everything changes quickly when two pink lines appear on a test right before the biggest moment of our lives. With our futures hanging in the balance, I make a choice that neither of us can come back from and that map of my future drastically changes. My biggest fear, having Jameson look at me with anything but love in his eyes, is enough to make me run.
Except Jameson doesn’t accept defeat. I might have broken him, but he still shows up every weekend. And as the truth comes out, I’m about to learn that not everything is as it seems, and Jameson Kane has never really let me go.

Jameson
Sam Campbell has always been mine. I stopped thinking of her as my best friend at thirteen and more as the girl who will be my future. She’s had my attention since we were nine, and I love being the center of her world. It’s only fair since she’s my entire universe.
While I plot ways to keep her, I always keep in mind that Sam has plans. Literal, written down to-do lists, for each year in high school, college and beyond. I wasn’t going to put my needs above her goals. Instead I worked in the background making sure she got everything she wanted while also being the most important person in her life.
Then one day she changed my life completely. What followed was a chain of events that led to our futures going in different directions. Too bad I was never going to let Sam go. Instead, I use all my resources, winnings from my races, and my relentless obsession to bring her back to me. To make sure both of them never go a day without me.

Hockey brought us together. Racing is what keeps me in control. Loving Sam is the rush of a lifetime. I just have to prove it to her.
