Through it all, I never saw Edge once.
Not that I hadn’t expected him to avoid me. He’d been doing it since our encounter with Jamie earlier. As soon as she left, he’d come up with the excuse that he had a meeting to attend. I never saw him in the office again after that. I’d tried texting him, but that had gone unanswered.
I got the feeling he was pissed at the way I’d manipulated the game we had played. I was a smart man and I’d noticed a trend. One that involved Edge keeping me and Jamie at a safe distance. While it seemed he had no issue with me making her come with my mouth, or he and I making each other come that way, he wasn’t allowing her to touch either of us. So, I’d taken it upon myself to ensure he had no choice in the matter.
To be honest, I had expected him to come up with an excuse not fill Jamie’s mouth with his cock the way he had.
I considered it progress.
Mostly.
By the time everyone had dispersed to the dungeon or the theme rooms for some playtime, I decided it was time to confront Edge. I wasn’t going to play this game with him, and I fully intended to tell him as much.
Needless to say, I wasn’t in the right frame of mind when I found him winding his way through the dungeon, looking on at the scenes.
I walked right up to him and greeted him with a clipped, “Hey.”
His eyes narrowed. “Hey.”
Before I could get out another word, he walked right on past.
Of course, thanks to my already building frustration, I couldn’t simply let it go. Rather, I grabbed his arm to stop him.
Edge spun around, glared at me. “I suggest you take your hand off me. Now.”
Okay, clearly, I wasn’t the only one with an issue tonight. “Or what?”
Edge jerked his arm away. “I’m not doing this with you here.”
“I don’t even know what this is,” I snapped.
Without a rebuttal, Edge turned and walked away. He paused to talk to Mistress Jane. She gave him a quick nod, glanced in my direction, then started around the room in the same pattern Edge had been following.
I watched as Edge ascended the stairs. For a moment, I considered leaving. Going back to my hotel room, going to bed, and hoping tomorrow would look clearer than the night did.
Of course, I didn’t do that. Why avoid confrontation when you could be the instigator of it? That was my motto.
At least for tonight, anyway.
I caught up with Edge on the third floor. He stepped into his office, closed the door.
I didn’t bother to knock or wait for an invitation. I merely opened the door, stepped inside, then closed it behind me.
“What the fuck is your problem?” I bit out as soon as the door clicked shut.
Edge spun around, stomped toward me. Similar to the last time I’d been in this room, he pinned me up against the door with his hand around my neck. Not enough to hurt because that wasn’t Edge’s style. But it was definitely enough to get my attention.
“You don’t know what the problem is, Cav?”
“Not the slightest clue,” I countered.
“How about the incident in my office earlier. That ring a bell?”
I stared into his face, reliving that moment in his office with Jamie earlier. I knew exactly what he was referring to, but for the life of me, I couldn’t figure out why it was a problem for him.
“You’re pissed because what? Because Jamie had her mouth on your dick?”
“Yes.”
“I didn’t hear her complainin’.”
“Not the point,” he snarled.
“Then what is the point, Edge? Clue me in here.”
Edge dropped his hand, stepped back. He turned away from me and I could see the tension in every line of his body.
“I didn’t want it to happen like that,” he said, his voice lacking the frustration from before.
“Like what?”
He paused by his desk, planted his hands on the top, and hung his head. “She’s a virgin, Cav.”
“Yeah. She is. So fucking what?”
Edge’s head turned, his eyes shooting daggers in my direction.
“If that’s such an issue for you, why the fuck are you messin’ with her, then?” I didn’t get it. “The woman’s interested in you. In us. I haven’t heard her ever say she wanted to continue bein’ a virgin.”
And she hadn’t. In fact, I would go so far as to say Jamie had wanted things to go further than they had. Not just this afternoon, either.
Yet it didn’t appear Edge felt the same.
“That’s not how it was supposed to go,” he said, his tone defeated.
“Okay, enlighten me then. How the fuck do you see this playin’ out? We gonna spend all our time on third base? You think Jamie’s gonna be okay with us gettin’ her off with our mouths?”
