Speaking of king…

“I am so glad you could join us tonight,” TJ Arlington greeted the three of us with a genuine smile.

“You look lovely, Miss Wagner.”

I smiled. “Thank you, Master Arlington.”

“Oh, no,” he said with a grin. “Please call me TJ tonight.” He glanced at Master and Sir. “I’ve been told I’ve forgotten the meaning of vanilla, so I’m going out of my way to prove everyone wrong tonight.”

Master and Sir both laughed.

“Anything you need, one of my attendants can bring you.” He lowered his voice slightly. “And if you’re interested in ditching the vanilla, the dungeon is open.”

“Of course it is,” Master said with a smirk. “Couldn’t go straight vanilla, could you?”

“Absolutely not. Unless it’s the flavor of my vodka, vanilla bores me.” The twinkle in the man’s eye made me grin. “Anyway, I hope you have a lovely evening. I’m sure you’ll know quite a few people here. I took your advice and invited other members of the club. It was my attempt to get to know them better.”

I had yet to know what club it was they were all members of, but I soon learned that most of the people who had come out to the island were in attendance tonight. Including Kristen.

“Luci, I’m so glad you’re here,” she greeted me with a hug. “It about killed me to have to back out on you tonight.” She glared at Sir. “But I was asked to keep my mouth shut. Which, as you know, isn’t easy for me to do.”

Well, that certainly explained something coming up that had thwarted Kristen’s plans.

“I forgive you,” I told her. How could I not when I got to spend the evening with Master and Sir?

“We appreciate your discretion,” Sir said, wrapping his arm around my shoulder. “We wanted to be the ones to invite her out tonight and we wanted it to be a surprise.”

My heart swelled in my chest at the knowledge.

Kristen huffed. “Doms. They can be such a pain in a girl’s ass.”

That made several people laugh, including Master and Sir.

“Come on, let us show you around,” Sir said, guiding me away from Kristen. He called out to her over his shoulder. “You’ll have time with her later, Kristen. Tonight she’s ours.”

Kristen winked as I was ushered away and led directly to a huge ballroom on the second floor. It didn’t look like it belonged in a house, that was for sure. They had spared no expense with the decorations and there were dozens of people dancing in the center of the room.

“Care to dance?” Master asked, holding out his hand.

I glanced up at him, feeling my cheeks heat. “I don’t know how to dance.” I hated admitting that, but I didn’t want to embarrass him.

“Let me lead and you’ll be fine.”

I would let this man lead me anywhere, so I took his hand and as he led me to the dance floor, I fell in love just a little more.

Sixteen

AFTER I DANCED WITH MASTER, Sir cut in and took my hand.

“I had absolutely no idea the two of you could dance so well,” I said, slightly breathless from my dance with Master.

“There are some things we don’t like to brag about.”

I couldn’t help but laugh.

We took a few more spins around the floor, weaving between other couples who were doing the same before we headed toward a table covered in white linen and decorated with beautiful white roses.

Sir had pulled the chair out for me and I was about to sit when I heard a familiar voice calling my name from behind me. I turned to see Jordan and his boyfriend moving my way.

“Fancy seeing you here,” he teased with a huge grin on his face.

“Jordan,” I said in a rush of breath. It was so good to see him. As it was, I’d been looking forward to going back to work just so we could have lunch together.

“Would you gentlemen mind if I steal your girl for a few minutes? I promise to return her after one dance.”

I glanced over, noticing Master and Sir were both smiling. Master offered a curt nod and Jordan then led me back in the direction I’d just come from.

“As always, you look absolutely gorgeous,” he said as he placed one hand on my hip, my hand curling over his other hand.

“You don’t look too shabby yourself.”

“This old thing?”

“This old thing” was a finely tailored tuxedo that made him look like a million dollars. I could only imagine what his closet looked like.

“So, I take it you’re a member of the club?” I was unable to keep the question from coming out.

Jordan smiled, flashing white teeth. “I am.”

“What’s it like? This club?” I was more than a little curious.

He stared back at me. “I could tell you, but then I’d have to kill you.”
