Oh, fuck yes.
This was where Reese wanted to be. In Brantley’s arms, the man’s hard body sliding against his own.
“Let’s relocate this party,” Brantley urged, taking Reese’s hand and dragging him down the hall.
They fumbled, alternating between blazing kisses, groping hands, and attempts to alleviate the rest of their clothing. Finally naked, they fell to a heap on the bed, Reese on his back, Brantley’s delicious body, all that strength and heat, covering him.
Because he wasn’t ready for the foreplay to end, Reese smiled. “I want you in my mouth.”
He saw the flash of desire in those blue-gray eyes, the mirroring smile forming on Brantley’s mouth.
“Who am I to deny you anything?” Brantley rolled off him, falling to his back on the bed.
Reese followed, but he didn’t go right for his cock. Instead, he crawled over Brantley, straddling his hips, planting his hands firmly on the mattress beside his head. Leaning in for a kiss, he slowed things down.
Although he was so hot he was practically combustible, he damn sure wasn’t ready for this to be over yet.
So he settled in to take his time.

Having gotten her butt whooped at pool for the past couple of hours, JJ had decided to call it quits. Of course, she was still in good spirits. No reason not to be. She’d had the opportunity to spend the past few hours with friends, hanging out, laughing. Granted, some of the laughter had been them making fun of her lack of skills at the pool table, but hey, she could take it in stride.
And when Brantley and Reese had opted to call it a night, JJ hadn’t been ready to leave. She had to blame it on the man she’d spent the evening with. Sebastian Buchanan. The more time she spent with the handsome detective, the more she liked him.
As a friend, of course.
Nothing more.
“How about I take you to dinner,” Baz suggested, as though he’d been tuned in to her thoughts.
JJ peered over at him, unable to hide her smile. “You know I’m not gonna sleep with you, right?”
His answering smile was blinding. She had to admit, the man was insanely attractive. Dark blond hair, teal-blue eyes, the body of a Greek god. He was honestly the polar opposite of the sort of men she usually went for, but the exact replica of the ones she’d always fantasized about. The bad boy with a reckless streak. For that reason alone, he scared her. JJ knew, given half a chance, she could so easily fall for this man. And she wasn’t talking only into bed with him.
To her surprise, Baz stepped closer, eliminating the distance between them, ignoring the beers sitting on the high-top they’d commandeered earlier. Somehow he managed not to make her feel crowded despite the fact he was invading her personal space and she was forced to tip her head back to maintain eye contact.
She was aware of his hand lifting, his knuckles sliding over her cheek. A gentle sweep as his eyes stared into hers.
“You should know that won’t deter me,” he said softly.
“No?”
His eyes glittered with mischief. “No. I’m content with dinner, conversation. I’ll follow your lead.”
“Why?” she heard herself asking.
Baz didn’t move back, didn’t drop his hand. “I honestly don’t know.” The wattage on his smile amplified. “Perhaps you could say I’m smitten.”
That made her laugh, but it also sent a frisson of warmth through her. Not necessarily desire, although she felt that in spades.
No, there was something about Sebastian Buchanan. He was different from the men she’d been with in the past. And she truly believed he would not push for sex, that he would be content with dinner and dating for as long as she deemed it necessary.
JJ figured the problem was going to be in managing to hold her ground in that regard.
“What do you say? Dinner? That little diner you like?”
She smiled. “I could eat.”
Their eyes remained locked together, their bodies so close she could feel his warmth.
“You want me to kiss you,” he whispered softly.
It was then JJ realized her gaze had dropped to his mouth.
His eyes lowered then.
“I think it’s the other way around,” she replied, her voice low.
“Trust me, JJ, I’d love nothing more than to taste you.”
Crap.
Why did this man have to be so polite? So attractive? He wasn’t the only one who was smitten, she knew. But the fact of the matter was, JJ had only recently come out of a bad relationship. Or rather, rocky relationship. She wasn’t sure she was ready to go down that road again. Nor was she interested in casual sex anymore. And honest to God, that acknowledgement had surprised her more than anything.
“JJ?”
“Hmm?”
“If you lean in any more…” He was warning her.
Oh, fuck it. She had to know if he was a good kisser. That could make or break any sort of relationship, could it not?
